Yep. When the Patriots were rolling teams over Brady said “If you don’t want us to score…. Stop us.”

I agree 100%

I'm glad somebody brought this up. In 2007, when the Pats were beating teams by an average of two to three scores they were continuously accused of "running up the score".

Yet, Mike McDaniel is being hailed today for his good sportsmanship for not trying to tie the record of 73 points. The Phins could've
easily pulled Tua and the majority of the starters in the 3rd quarter when it was 49 to 13 and still won by 29 points.

The fireworks. Hope they beat the shit out of each other.

I can't wait to watch this game. If it were later in the season this one would no doubt be flexed to prime time.

Cowboys have lost both of their starting CBs. Offensive line is more patched than the Patriots. Cowboys had 12 penalties in the first half alone yesterday. Our defense is big, faster and tougher than the Cardinals. Dak is not going to have a comfortable day. This is a game that the Patriots can play Run, Run, screen, run, run, screen, run, run, screen and wear down the Cowboys defense. Just have to push Micah Parsons wide and not constantly engage him.

Patriots 26 Cowboys 17
I hope so

I agree, I just don't see it

I agree. This is one of those games that I feel the Pats overthink it and hand the other team a victory.

That said, if the Pats pull out a victory I will feel a lot more confident moving forward. I think most of us anticipated a low scoring affair against the Jets. Now the offense needs to get its shit together and play complimentary football.

In hindsight, letting Meyers go and replacing him with Juju for a similar price tag seems like a bad idea. Meyers looks really good in LV.

Aside from the standing over him and taunting, yeah, I can see it.

Try to embarrass somebody, somebody gets a bit more chippy.

I can see it in Girls HS soccer. Competitive people don't like to not be competitive and some will get dirty.

Comparing the NFL and Girls High School Soccer…. really? Do they even score more than 3 goals in a game?? What’s running it up? 4-1 ?? I’m sure they are out there ready to fight the other girls for scoring 4 goals against Ridgemont High. “Let’s get those bitches!!!”

And in many of those games once the Pats had a sizeable lead, the play calling went to run, run, run to keep the clock spinning rather than Brady to Moss or Brady to Gronk for another TD and run the score up.

Nothing like running it up the gut for quick 3 and outs. The other team is trying their hardest to score. Why should the team kicking ass not do the same?

Maybe have a mercy rule? Once a team is up 4 scores they just stop the game so a team and their fans don’t get embarrassed and hurt feelings?

Just so everyone knows..........

Washington scored 73 in 1966 against the Giants. The Dolphins scored 70 against Denver, not Washington.

I don't think that the Dolphins have ever scored 70 against anyone before yesterday., especially against the Redskins. I don't think that they have played the Commanders yet.

He might look good in LV, not so good last night in Pittsburgh.

He had 7 catches for 85 yards. Not bad at all. His 7 catches are more than any Patriots WR/TE/RB in all 3 of our games. As is his 85 yards..

If he averaged that over 17 games it’s 119 receptions and 1500 yards.

But yeah…. not very good at all.

We had the mercy rule in church softball.

Haa Haa!!!

Yeah usually.

No, actually our girls have had a good run this year. Let me recap;

White House High W 9-0 Mercy Rule
Green Hills High T 3-3
Springfield High W 9-0 Mercy Rule
Davidson Academy W 10-3
North East High W 10-1 Mercy Rule
Lipscomb Academy L 1-9
West Creek High W 3-1
Hillsboro High W 8-3
Northwest High W 7-1
Kirkwood High W 9-0 Mercy Rule
Dickson County W 6-1
Clarksville High W 4-0
Liberty Creek W 4-2.

Mercy rule is when there is a 9 point goal differential they stop the game. Those games and the other high point spread games can get very chippy.

We are in first place in our district and have 1 more game to go before playoffs begin. We won district for the first time last year. We went to regionals and won that, again first for both. and lost in state finals. And I say "We" because I bring Gatorades to every home and away game and I run the announcing Booth for Home games and my wife is the Booster Club Secretary.

My point was more to the fact that people who are competitive do not like losing.
The competitive nature of High School Sports is not what it is in College Sports. Colleges recruit the most competitive and talented players out of high school. There are Millions of high schoolers who only wish they were competitive enough to make it to college. Then there are Only a few hundred that make it from the hundreds of thousands in college to the pros.

If you don't think that an elite athlete that has dedicated two decades of there life or more to give a frustrated fuck you chip shot to someone who is embarrassing them in the sport that they think they are at the top of...you are either out of touch or just a casual observer.

Which begs the question, Is that Meyers?
Or is that Jimmy G ov Mac J or Skippy and his OC over Bill and B'OB?
Or all three?

It's Meyers IMO.

He played well here even when Fat Matt was the OC. I believe if he were still here he'd be doing a better job than Juju(don't really have to stretch for that assumption). Perhaps that will change as the season goes on.

He is not a burner. Not a downfield threat, not going to lose anybody once he gets the ball.

But...he gets the ball.

When did you hear that Gilmore was injured? He finished that game.

I bet that Elliott has been counting the days till this match up. 75 yards?

BK was talking about other teams hitting Dolphins players harder because they ran up the score. If they played the Broncos again… sure. Do you really think Judon is going to sack Tua and tell him that’s what he gets for kicking Denver’s ass.

Denver… sure. Rough the Dolphins up.

The other 30 teams…. Won’t give a shit about that score.
