All they have to do is make minor rule changes to the challenge system and the refs will be saved

BS.

You will still complain about them because that is what you do. You have unrealistic expectations and will never be satisfied.

I am all for changing the review system. Won’t fix everything. Won’t even come close.

They have a great review system in the NFL and you complain about those refs all the time.

It is just so played out.

People here just have no appreciation for how impossible the job is.

Just stop already!

The league needs to change the rules. Human officials just can’t ever be accurate enough to please the masses. It isn’t possible.

Making these calls in real time is so hard. There is always contact. The judgement on when to call vs not call combined with the age old inclination to swallow the whistle at the end of the clock outs these guys in an impossible position.

And the people railing about “how bad the refs are” are just showing off their ignorance.

Talk about the missed call and how it affected the game. Stop saying these people are incompetent. Because I guarantee the replacements would be worse.
You still don’t get it…refs could call a perfect game and then fumble the last two minutes and they are going to look incompetent. This is what myself and others have been saying missed calls happen but there is no reason these easy calls should keep happening at the end of games when you have 8 eyes on one player and he gets raked across the arm. This isn’t close to the first time. This call was not difficult in real time.
Replacements? No one is talking about replacements, it about punishment for easy missed calls or else this game is is getting worse every season. If you can’t fix the process of reviewed calls and/or punish refs you are doing your job as a commissioner to improve the game.
Players make mistakes and are held accountable. Why are referees held to hire standards? Both make decisions. The review process needs change, whether it is adding changes, putting in a rule that certain plays get automatic review in the final 1 or 2, an extra challenge, etc.

There is NO reason a ref 4 feet away with a perfect view imof a rake on the arm should miss this and/or it should decide a gsme, plain snd simple. The game can improve, other sports are improving. You are in denisl if you don’t think this game needs improvement bc of so many easy calks being missed over and over. It would be stupid to look at the game of basketball right now and say that we are watching a good product…it’s going downhill

Don't look now but the wolves are a game out of home court advantage.

Tell me you have never officiated without telling me you have never officiated.

Yes, it is very hard to get it right in real time.

And I promise you, in that LeBron scenario, the psychology there that has been beat into officials minds is let the players play, don’t decide the game with a phantom whistle.

While I agree it is wrong, officials have always let more contact go on last second plays.

Change the review process, I agree. I have never said they can’t improve the process. What I will always push back on is people calling the officials incompetent.

If they are so incompetent, I want to see you do better.

So it is unrealistic expectations that a ref that has been trained and according to you “competent at his job” to make an easy, clear foul call at the end of the game instead of blowing it? Hahaha well I am glad you aren’t commissioner, you would be sitting on your thumbs saying “this game is fine, no changes need to made bc we are all humans”.

Ifwe are all humans then players should be able to react to a call that loses them a game where they put their heart and sweat out on the court for 47 mins and 59 seconds and they get cheated. You sound ridiculous

I dont have unrealistic expectations for them. I actually hold my tongue on them more often than previously but lebron got hit on the arm. You expected people to stay quiet?

Talk about the missed call all you want: it affected the game.

But do it in a more constructive context.

There is no excuse for making a team lose a potential challenge for being right. None.

Dont forget that the ref was right there looking at the play. Some people will always make excuses for the ref. Honestly a waste of time to debate with them

I said nothing really except for post tweets from AD and Reggie Miller. Most that came from me last night was state the obvious that lebron got fouled.

The NBA is far worse than the NFL and it isn’t close but fans will complain about every missed call…but the only thing right now that matters to me is the final 2 minutes. It’s extemely crucial and we have seen too many fuck up’s to believe otherwise. Change can be made, far from a finished product. You are the only one that doesn’t think so bc refs are “human” LOL. The players are too yet they get fined for saying one wrong word.

I would 100% institute a much more comprehensive review system.

Never once said I wouldn’t change anything.

But your idea of fining refs is utterly ridiculous.

Best graded refs get the best assignments, get more assignments and keep their jobs. That is accountability.

What you want is to publicly embarrass the refs. When the reality is that officials are supposed to be in the background.

I mean, cmon.

While they aren’t your words, you are clearly posting those tweets because you agree with them.

And you had multiple comments yesterday about “disgusting calls” and comments like that.

Good.

So then you admit that what you said earlier is BS.

Because you won’t be satisfied with the NBA changing the review process.

You want them to get everything right.

Dude.

Where have I ever said changes don’t need to be made?

I have said like 2 dozen times I am all for changing the review process.

At least get your facts straight if you are going to come at me.

James and Bev combined to make 10 of 19 treys.

The rest of the team? 2 of 23. But, let us blame the refs.

LOL.
You’re a clown. A last second play after the teams played an even game is going to be highlighted. Who cares about what happened before. Players missed shots oj both teams, both teams made TO’s, both teams made mistakes, both teams worked their ass of to get to that point…then it was decided by a human that 99% of other humans make the right call and he didn’t. Not to mention, there were 3-4 other humans that could have collaborated together in a huddle to make the right call, an easy call, but no they didn’t. And we wonder why the product then NBA puts on the court is it’s lowest in a long time. You keep thinking a missed shot with 2:46 in the 3rd decided this game LOL idiot
