It’s that bald white guy. He had money on the game lol. He made the late call on Brown and held his whistle. He had the best view in the arena

He needs to be investigated for some Donaghy shit. I'm dead serious. He was that bad. I swear every horrible call in that game, and there were a lot of them, came from him. Donaghy shit or not, he is the prime example of why the NBA needs to punish referees for egregiously bad performances.

@trojanfan12 @tlance

I know y’all hate this.

But, this rant is going to be excessive…lol

Trash fucking refs…

It is just so played out.

People here just have no appreciation for how impossible the job is.

Just stop already!

The league needs to change the rules. Human officials just can’t ever be accurate enough to please the masses. It isn’t possible.

Making these calls in real time is so hard. There is always contact. The judgement on when to call vs not call combined with the age old inclination to swallow the whistle at the end of the clock outs these guys in an impossible position.

And the people railing about “how bad the refs are” are just showing off their ignorance.

Talk about the missed call and how it affected the game. Stop saying these people are incompetent. Because I guarantee the replacements would be worse.

This is exactly why the NBA has to do something. The refs this year have not been good. Tonight was the most extreme example in a long time, but this hasn't been your typical "refs are up and down, bad calls happen, it evens out" type of deal in the past. It's a legit problem in the league right now. Look how tight the West is. You can't have your officials fucking up that bad legit costing teams games.

You know what though?

It is the age old saying

Control what you can control.

The Lakers have not, and are not doing everything they can to make their roster competitive.

Laker fans need to blame the right people. Blame management.

Let go of those picks Jeanie Buss is clutching and get a better fitting roster. Then you win all those close games without giving the refs a chance to screw you with a missed call.

“The West is too tight”.

Well yeah, January is almost over and Lakers knew their roster was impossibly flawed last season.

But see….

Reggie Miller offers the right perspective here. Read between the lines.

He is frustrated, but also talking about how those non calls have always frustrated him.

These things have ALWAYS been a part of the game. Just way more attention on it today with Twitter and all the commentary in real time.

Lebron assaulted Tatum's hand with his forearm... should have been called a flagrant offensive foul, and James should have been put in cuffs.

:peep:

That’s how I saw it too GMan. Sorry to the fans but seeing LeBron lose it afterwards was poetry

We got to get Smart and Williams back healthy that’s for sure

Speaking of Referee Fuckery Shit. Saw a stat the other day that the Sixers have lost 16 times this year and Scott Foster was one of the officials in 12 of them. Ha crazy.

Maybe the Lakers shouldn't have blown an 11 point lead or, ya know, not miss free throws.
Celtics weren’t going to shoot like they were for an entire game. It’s ok to blame this one on a horrible missed call. I guess Lebron would have made one of the free throws anyway.

Lakers can't control the refs, they can control their defense and making their free throws.

The refs had a bad game, but just prior to that non-call with Lebron, they had someone (I believe AD) miss one of 2 free throws. Hit both and they're still up 1.

It is an emotional comment.

And it is a joke if you think that will make things better.

Yeah, you can't start fining them. But they do need to make changes to the challenge system and maybe bring in a "booth review" in the last 2 minutes like the NFL has. Also, they need to come up with a better way to hold refs accountable, imo.

The refs have an impossible job, but it feels like the NBA doesn't do a lot as far as helping them to do it.

They also need to get rid of L2M. I get that the idea is for transparency, but it seems to just add to fans and teams frustration.

All they have to do is make minor rule changes to the challenge system and the refs will be saved
