The NBA is far worse than the NFL and it isn’t close but fans will complain about every missed call…but the only thing right now that matters to me is the final 2 minutes. It’s extemely crucial and we have seen too many fuck up’s to believe otherwise. Change can be made, far from a finished product. You are the only one that doesn’t think so bc refs are “human” LOL. The players are too yet they get fined for saying one wrong word.

And, the NBA is harder to officiate for multiple reasons.

First, NFL officials play the same positions all game and are looking for specific types of thing. Second, the time between plays makes expedited review pretty easy to do.

Much harder to do in the NBA. Every review is going to disrupt flow.

So the challenge of adding reviews while minimizing disruption is a lot harder in the NBA.

I mean, cmon.

While they aren’t your words, you are clearly posting those tweets because you agree with them.

And you had multiple comments yesterday about “disgusting calls” and comments like that.

Yes brogdon clearly holding AD then the refs calling a foul on AD was disgusting. Didn't mean anything in the end but it was a bad call. Sorry that im not a ref ass kisser like you.

The 20 second delay on the brown and 1 was nonsense too even though it was the right call. How did he see from the 3 pt line that Brown got hit in the head but ref under the basket didnt? Doesn't make sense but i will live with those poor because most importantly they got the call right

You’re a clown. A last second play after the teams played an even game is going to be highlighted. Who cares about what happened before. Players missed shots oj both teams, both teams made TO’s, both teams made mistakes, both teams worked their ass of to get to that point…then it was decided by a human that 99% of other humans make the right call and he didn’t. Not to mention, there were 3-4 other humans that could have collaborated together in a huddle to make the right call, an easy call, but no they didn’t. And we wonder why the product then NBA puts on the court is it’s lowest in a long time. You keep thinking a missed shot with 2:46 in the 3rd decided this game LOL idiot
It never comes down to that 1 play if

1-They made a few more 3 pointers.

2-They didn't blow an 11 point lead.

Bitching about the refs is what losers do.

Good.

So then you admit that what you said earlier is BS.

Because you won’t be satisfied with the NBA changing the review process.

You want them to get everything right.

I actually dont. There's probably 40 missed calls in a game. Avoid outcome changing calls and one sided BS and i can live with it while making the necessary small adjustments to the review system

Some of you just aren’t getting it. Referees make mistakes so why not tweak the challenge system in the final minutes so a play like this never happens…hell, rarely happens is good with me. The final 2 minutes are the glaring point. I could give a shit about a full game unless it is extremely one-sided, that shit happens but who cares-big picture.

Then just call what it is. Say bad call without being so dramatic.

Because you “holding your tongue” led to multiple comments and a couple reposted tweets.

Yep i will never get the people who want to bring up so and so happened 2 hours before so if they played a perfect game and didn't miss a single shot then they wouldn't be in this position. The only thing you can actually bring up is Bev missing the ft to put them 4

Who doesn’t get it?

Nobody here has said they aren’t in favor of tweaking with review system.

Nobody.

Yet, somehow you continue to attribute that to me and others.

You are making shit up at this point.

Dude.

Where have I ever said changes don’t need to be made?

I have said like 2 dozen times I am all for changing the review process.

At least get your facts straight if you are going to come at me.

Then stop arguing that refs are human…who gives a shit. It was a missed call and after every missed call that seems to decide a game you act like everything is fine. “Their job is so tough”. The players work their ass off…lets make the game as good as possible. We are not going to appreciate when a ref blows multiple easy calls to decide a game…so give it a rest. You will defend them at all costs. You do realize that NBA ratings continue to dwindle…a large part of that is the crappy product they continue to put on the court and yes, the refs do have a part of that. Nobody is saying they have to be perfect or even good.
Some things just don’t make sense. You have 4-5 refs on a court for a reason, easy calls SHOULD be cleaned up and yes, refs should be held resposnsible which is the main focus.

Like I said many times, players are held responsible and referees aren’t???? That makes zero sense. The two minute report is a joke.

By the way... the missed call last night on Tatum goes 1/100th of the way towards evening the scales for what the refs did to the Celtics in Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals.

There, I said it.

(I'm sure my man @The Q would agree) :heh:

That game was a sham

I will never feel bad for the lakers after they were intentionally handed that game

Talk about the call all you want. Take away the L2M report. Agreed.

Change the review system to be closer to what the NFL has.

But for heaven sake, stop saying they suck at their jobs unless you think can do better.

That is all I ever push back on.

And like I said a couple weeks ago, if you are going to fine refs for missing calls, that is equivalent to fining players for missing shots.

@tlance you always act like the refs are the victim. They should be held accoutable, this isn’t some million dollar company…this is a multi-billion dollar industry and they should he held accoutable for every game they decide. This one is so clear that is why we are discussing it, THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN.
I’m an accountant, you really think I get appreciated for every little thing I do right when that is my job and that’s how it should be. No if I do something wrong, it’s going to be highlighted. That’s just how it is…this is how the world works. So stop acting like the referees should be praised. They aren’t nurses or doctors.

Well, hate to break it you, but it is like a million times easier for you to get it right in your job.

You don’t have to praise them.

But you do need to stop talking about how bad they are every single day.

Again, unless you can do better.

Tell me you have never officiated without telling me you have never officiated.

Yes, it is very hard to get it right in real time.

And I promise you, in that LeBron scenario, the psychology there that has been beat into officials minds is let the players play, don’t decide the game with a phantom whistle.

While I agree it is wrong, officials have always let more contact go on last second plays.

Change the review process, I agree. I have never said they can’t improve the process. What I will always push back on is people calling the officials incompetent.

If they are so incompetent, I want to see you do better.
I see both sides of this, but just saying we shouldn’t expect better of officials is a cop out, period.

They need the quick review system

But even the nfl is a joke and gets them laughably wrong

Matt Ryan’s clear incomplete pass in the super bowl

Chris hogans clear drop in the afccg against the chiefs where the ball freaking bounced

But the quick review stuff would be easy. But you need to be able to don it quickly. If it takes more than like 10 seconds it’s not easy

Also sometimes refs just don’t get an angle or players move and block the view. It just happens

It’s hard to fix that without them floating above the floor

All they have to do is make minor rule changes to the challenge system and the refs will be saved

Yep. The first should be that if you win your challenge, you keep it. Obviously, they'd have to have a max number of challenges, but last night was a perfect example of why it needs some work.

Both teams had successful challenges and each had at least 1 more call afterward that likely would have been changed upon review but they couldn't challenge and the NBA doesn't have a booth review for those types of calls.
