Loss is squarely on the Special Teams... Mac did all he could
STs certainly hold the majority of blame. But ever time NE got close, Mac would make another bad throw. If not for those three picks NE was also in good pisition in that game.

Oh well

Today just backed up my opinion that the 2022 patriots were a talented team with a sh *tty coaching staff … from special teams to offensive coordinator to defensive wtf (BB jr - 3rd and 10 and a 3 man rush) .. Kraft should sell while the money’s hot

yeah, I’m pi$$ed …
Actually they were not all that talented

Besides Judon.... do we have a top 10 player at any position? Maybe Duggar. We are not talented at all.

We do have some young talent... but time will tell.

This final game was a review of the 2022 season for this team. Everything that has plagued this team throughout the year was shown one final time against the Bills.

Poor play calls and coaching decisions.

Poor QB play at critical points, especially in the Red Zone

Poor Special Teams play and worse, extremely poor tackling.

Finally, a poor offensive line. What will be worse in 2023? BB will bring back Ferentz, Cajuste, McDermott and might resign Marcus Cannon, knowing that they were horrible, but could play when needed. But they won't be serious cap hits and they can "fill in" if necessary. He'll sign a less than average FA OT and will attempt to get a decent one in the draft.

Yeah his first INT was atrocious! You don't throw that, you just don't!

If you watch the play and see how it played out you'll see Mac released the ball, Agholor got block from reaching the spot, then didn't fight to get to the spot. He pretty much allowed the int to happen. Maybe Mac shouldn't have thrown it but it wasn't entirely on him.

Mac's had 35 games to learn when to throw a pass and when not to throw a pass. By game 35 there are no excuses. It's a question of poor decision making or ignoring everything you've learned.

Makes one wonder if Geno Smith, Colt McCoy, Andy Dalton or Baily Zappe are better options. AND the Packers are willing to listen to offers for Aaron Rogers. Would you do Mac and a Third for AR??

He's got the pocket presence of Drew Bledsoe without the confidence.

Or the arm strength.

Or even the accuracy or decision making ability.

I love how you constantly harp on Mac knowing we have a shitty O Coord, Shitty O Line sub par WRs yet it's on Mac. It's cute at this point

Then explain how Zappe won two games with the same shitty Ocoord, shitty Oline?

Maybe because he thinks quicker, reacts faster and doesn't always run backwards??

You love him and that's your privilege. I think he's slow afoot, hasn't been able to figure out how to step up in the pocket and is horrible checking down his WRs. I admit he's not surrounded by the greatest cast, but he hasn't stepped up to do anything to make things better. He should have made a significant improvement in his second year. IMO, he didn't.

But, you and Bill will stick with him and keep making excuses no matter how much this team improves around him.

Did you see yesterday when Mac started running away from one Bills defender only to see another Bills defender so he completely forgot the first and spun 180 and ran directly into him?

THAT is why we think Mac Jones blows on top of having shitty coaching.

I think it's only fair to see what he does next year. Rookie year we had a great OC and solid line play, that is the dynamic that changed the most and IMO has had the greatest affect on the QB. I would like to see what he looks like year three before we put all this shit on him

He did have over a 65% rating or something like that in 2 years and the only other QB to do that was Burrow so there's something..... Zappee might be

I agree.

I equate it to driving a car.
When you first start driving you are young with quick reactions, a little bit nervous and yet full of confidence.
What is not full? Your memory bank.
You have not seen thousands of drivers brake at the last minute and turn without signaling, or contrarily, put the blinker on two full blocks before turning. You have not seen someone stop at the exit of a parking lot and stare at you for 60 long seconds and then at the very last moment pull out in front of you. etc etc etc...
But once you have a few years experience with these surprise WTF moments you can just react to them without really even noticing them or realizing you have reacted to them.
Your brain just figures out, this schmuck in front of me is going to pull in to Pubelicks two blocks up so he slowed to 35 in a 45 now, and if I wait just a second the douche bag beside me will pick look at his phone again and slow down as well so I can then zag left and go around the schmuck just by accessing the thousands of times it has happened before.

Jones doesn't have the memory bank full of NFL defenses playing at NFL speed so he gets overwhelmed at times trying to process what's happening.

I'm hoping it was a sophomore slump and he comes back strong.

Coupled with Fatricias bad play calls.
