If this news is correct, it appears to be what everyone has been waiting for...

"Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours," the team said. "While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress. We are grateful for the love and support we have received."

Hamlin woke up last night.

He can move his fingers and was able to follow doctor's commands.

A doctor present in the room said that the first thing Hamlin said was, "Who won the game"

A second doctor was in the room has contradicted the first statement.

Hamlin now asked, "Who won?"

This doctor says that he was told "You won."

Now I'm sure that a third and fourth doctor in the room will tell us their version of the first words.

Can you clarify what the doctor ate for dinner?

The NFL has officially declared the Bills and Bengals' Week 17 game a no contest.

This means the game is no longer in a state of postponement and will not be made up. It also means all statistics that were accumulated up to the point of the Monday evening postponement will be null and void. It's a tough development for fantasy managers who had championships riding on the outcome of Monday evening's game, but the only reasonable path forward for the league. The league has also announced it is implementing a number of playoff contingencies based on the results of this weekend's contest. If the Ravens beat the Bengals, for instance, the host of that Wild Card contest will be determined via coin flip. The AFC Championship Game could also be played at a neutral site if "the participating teams played an unequal number of games and both could have been the number one seed and hosted the game had all AFC clubs played a full 17-game regular season." This is because the seeding is now based on winning percentage instead of raw record and head-to-head tiebreakers. The league will formally vote on the proposal Friday, but we would expect it to pass.

It's called not having the balls to give the Bengals the win based on the score when the game was called.

Ain't just fantasy, there was a shitload of money that was bet on both sides of that game and it has to be returned.

NFL didn't make any friends with this move.

Why would you give them the win for the score at the time, that makes ZERO sense

Almost like overtime rules.
Both teams had the opportunity to score, The Bengals showed more success.
Not that I agree.

IMHO, they should have played through that night, or Tuesday, or let Buffalo forfeit.

Almost maybe but there were still three and half quarters to play.

I agree they should have played on that night. Told both coaches take your team to the locker room. game resumes in 30 minutes

Where you watching the game? Anyone who witnessed the game seems to have a universal opinion - the players could not resume. They were in a funeral state of mind.

The point is that telling both teams that the score stands, would produce several options. Accept the score and move on, Rattle the brains of the Bills and make them decide whether or not to finish the game and move forward, or pull this bullshit, as if the game never happened and everyone walks away with their hands in their pockets.

Now the league has set a precedence. What happens if a player actually dies on the field next time?

What the league should have done is simple. Complete the game last night (Thursday).
Move the schedule ahead to next week and eliminate the bye week between the league championship games and the Superbowl.

All games get played, all teams get an extra week to rest and heal, including the Bills and Bengals and the league schedule is intact.

If Hamlin had died last night, would the NFL cancel the rest of season?? Would the Bills need a month before they could practice?
Where do you draw the line?

Hence the 30 minute break.

Coaches take your team to the locker room, let them know the game goes on. Shake it off. IMO the game should have been played, at the very least you cannot award the game to who had the lead half a quarter into the game
