If Watson morphs into his old self seemingly overnight the Browns definitely have some kind of juju on the Bengals.
Jacoby lit up the Bengals like a tree in their first game of the season. He probably played the Bengals better than any other QB that we've played so far. It will be interesting to see how Watson fares.

Agreed. Hopefully, Watson being cursed and bringing his curse to an already cursed franchise amounts to a hill of beans on Sunday!

The double whammy.

It's tough to make accurate passes with so much muscle soreness.

Fully expect the Browns to continue to own the Bengals. Hopefully that's not the case, but every matchup on the field is a negative. It is what it is.

That was so weird - would liked to actually have seen round 2 here....That game reminded me of the Mike White game last year with the Jets, except the Bengals couldn't get anything going on offense this time around. I don't think Lou would have allowed a repeat performance....

I really liked Shazier. I hated seeing our team have to play against him, but man I loved that guy at Ohio State and him as an individual. He was a good dude. I hated seeing him get hurt. He was a future hall of famer.
Same. Been a lot of guys who you love to hate in the Bengals/Steelers matchup (I won't call it a rivalry because back then, you had to win a few more games to actually call it a rivalry for the Bengals side)...Ward was another.

Guys who would always play right up to, and sometimes just slightly over, the line...you hate them on another team, but would love them on yours.

No Higgins, No Boyd, No Hurst...offense got it down.

Everyone is healthy, that's a 40+ point win. Watson is nowhere near what he was in Houston. I realize it is going to take time for him to round back into some kind of form, but even his arm looked really wonky at times. The INT he throw, he reared back, and really put his all into the throw and it still came out really odd looking - wobbly.

Cleveland tied a lot of guaranteed cheddar to that guy - if he's not the guy he was in Houston, they have a major, major problem.

Did you watch an entirely different game than i did?

Your first 2tds were aided entirely by penalties

Honestly, with Jerome Boger's crew being out there, I'm not sure why the Bengals didn't just throw it 40 yards to Chase all the time - They'll call PI at least 1/3 of those plays. That crew is awful.

It was ugly. Burrow wasn't sharp. But we beat Cleveland to get that monkey off the back and we've won 5 straight.

So not 40 points then. Again. Considering 13 of their points came entirely on Browns penalties.

My bad you weren't the 40 point guy

That game had a lot to be desired. But a win is a win. Especially around this time.

Good teams take advantage of other teams making mistakes. We can quibble about penalties all day long. But the bottom line is, Cleveland committed them and got flagged. Bengals took advantage.

However, the larger point I was making was - Burrow was down to Chase and 3 white dudes named Trent, Trenton, and Wilcox. While not a typical Burrow day, He still got 240 and 2 TD's. Chase, as the ONLY threat still got 10 - 119 - 1 TD. That Cleveland defense sacked Burrow just 1 time that counted, and allowed Mixon whose only other good rushing game came against the Panthers to rack up nearly 7 YPC going for 14 and 96, while also allowing Perine to get 5.5 YPC on 4 for 22.

And I finally saw someone worse than Zach Taylor calling 4th down plays...woof.

But hey, at least you still get these early round picks coming up to help re-stock the roster...so you got that going for you....oh wait.....

No that was me.

I said with Chase, Boyd, Higgins and Hurst against that defense - they would have. Yes, the penalties helped yesterday because they didn't have Boyd, Higgins, or Hurst. But you still allowed 7 YPC, nearly, to Mixon, and 5.5 to Perine and still allowed Chase to go for 10-119-1TD on a day where he was the only viable option at WR.

Don't like the take - that's fine - but the fact is this: The Bengals offense yesterday was hindered by their lack of available play makers on offense not because of the Browns defense - which is nowhere near good considering what they pay some of the players on that side of the ball.

At least you have Watson....

The point is all the momentum in terms of key calls went Cincy's way and you still only won by 13. And that was with multiple cleveland drives at the end that were on Cincy's side of the field.

Using the "if we had Boyd and Higgins we'd have won by 40" line is pretty fucking gay honestly.

And Hurst? Lol. He's 25th in TE Pff. He's a neglible performer.

You all got the win and the monkey off your back. Maybe not be a douche about it too.
