Well what are people's realistic Expectations for this team this season

Let's face it, this team is looking TERRIBLE! I don't care it's only "pre season." The starters played against the Raiders 3rd stringers and looked baaaaaaaaaaaaaad. No offensive and defensive coaches, No Dante..... He ain't walking through the door again... OL can't protect Mac.....

From all appearances, something just doesn't seem right. Can't tell if it's Bill, the coaches or the players. Instead of Eric Clapton playing "Layla" on
the guitar, it's BigKen trying to play "No More Tears in Heaven" on a bass fiddle.

At this moment 6-11 or 7-10. If they don't get their shit together, they might looking at the first pick in the 2023 draft.

It has to be due to the lack of "coaching." Players don't seem to know who actually is doing what. I fully (sadly) expect a regression from Mac as well, even with the addition of Parker

As little credit as McDaniels got, it appears that he was the glue that held the offense together. His complex offense that seemed to require a high football IQ, needed a coach who could direct it . The simplified 2022 offense seems to be giving the coaches as much of a problem as the players.
I coached for over forty years and whatever they're trying to do this year doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me right now. The oddest piece is watching some weird stuff by the OL. Why is Andrews pulling left and not taking out the safety, but turning up field and looking for a LB? Why is Trent Brown pushing a LB twenty yards up field when the play is getting cut off ten yards behind him. I wonder if it's more attitude and not anything else.

Two issues that have been brought up:

1. Trent Brown signed a contract for $7M to play RT. Now he's been switched back to LT and being paid way the hell below market value for a LT.

2. Isaiah Wynn is making a huge chunk of cash ($11.5M) to play LT and has been switched to RT and is struggling in his contract year. He's pissed because now he's not playing and feels that BB is screwing with his future pay.

Question: Is Bill Belichick purposefully screwing with these guys to control where they go and what they get paid? Is Bill Belichick going through a mental change about coaching and losing control of the locker room? Bob Kraft is refusing to answer questions about anything. Johnathan Kraft has become a ghost. He used to be on the practice field before the players and after they left. He's nowhere to be seen.

Simple questions: (1) Have we come to the end of the Bill Belichick era? (2)Is Bill Belichick trying to set up the future coaching staff with a transition to Matt Patricia or Steve Belichick?(3) Are Bob and Johnathan Kraft preparing for an overhaul of the New England patriots in 2023 with a $350M renovated Gillette Stadium??

I certainly don't have any answers.

I don't know why you're digging so deep. The GOAT left at the beginning of a rebuild and they are just now truly entering it. Next year they have cap space, this year they're tight but still have really good players.

MP and JJ were both HC's and while they were totally unsuccessful they definitely gained experience.

The team will be pretty good this year and great next year.

I'm not digging deep. I'm asking questions.

If TB12 had been killed in an auto accident in 2016, would the Patriots still be rebuilding?

You may well have answered one of my questions. If the patriots will have a a large amount of cap money in 2023, will Bob Kraft and Johnathan Kraft make the decision to move on with that cap space and a renovated stadium and hire a younger more offensive minded Head Coach? Bring in a Young, statistical minded GM? Just asking.

Or will he keep Bill around for another five or six years so he can get the all time coaching wins title from Don Shula?

Give it till week 5 or 6 to start to gel. Everytime BB has done something most of us were left scratching our heads he's found a way to make a terd shine?

I have to say right now this no coordinator and nepotism is eating at me something fierce.

I'm the wrong person to ask. I prefer not to predict and enjoy each game for what it is. We've been spoiled for years and many years ago we stopped accepting that the other team tries too.

Yes we certainly have been spoiled for years but we shouldn't all of a sudden get something completely different imho. Hopefully my gut is wrong and the Patriots prove us all wrong but I doubt it

You left off the most important opinion of all. Mine!

10 - 7 with one playoff win.

I appologize. I really couldn't think of any names and those were the ones that came into my head

Honestly BB will most likely be here but if they have all that money Kraft and Co had better really re think BB as the "GM" and actually get a GM or someone who makes much better draft decisions (they probably won't give said person the "GM" title because we all know how titles "aren't a thing" in NE anymore it seems)

I think the Pats are going to attempt less dink and dunk and more run play's setting up longer down field passing.

I hope not. That's not Mac's strong suit. Mid level passes and some YAC with this quicker group.

Not what we saw in preseason, and people now know how to defense that dink and dunk. Mac has a good arm he showed it in preseason. The Pats drafted speed and picked up Parker I really feel to quote Sam Cooke " A change is gonna come"
