Game day again, 7pm start on TNT so it's a national game and will start later than usual. Hope they don't screw the pooch and get lit up, seems like they do that more often than not on national telecasts. My son has a high school showcase and then dinner afterwards at a mom and pop place that was really good but shutting their doors this weekend so one last dinner there. I'll probably catch the replay after we get home.

Line blender in full action, check this get up out. Projected lineup:

12 11 9
37 55 14
22 24 26
47 79 61

44 84
6 92
82 21

Englund and Burroughs out, Jeannot serving his final game suspension, Turcotte still in LA with that UBI but Kings specifically stating it is not a concussion. Kuemper to get the start, both he and Jones former members of the Avalanche with Kuemper winning the Cup with them in 2022 and Jones suiting up in 25 RS and 3 PO games last season.

I'd have started Rittich in this one since Kuemper has played several in a row but that's just me, although he was stellar against Calgary on Monday and was the only reason it wasn't a blowout. Kings need a much better start off the bat, they looked like they were sleep walking against the Flames.

The Avs are 8-8-0, but they have a lot of offensive weapons and tons of speed - arguably the fastest team overall in the league. They have the guns with MacKinnon, Raantanen, etc and as always Makar who can change a game like that. Their record may be ho hum but I wouldn't bank on this being an easy one.

Prediction: Avalanche 4-1. Kings goal by Kempe, Rittich in relief after it's 4-0. Buster a no show.

Let's Go Kings!

Not sure 5 sog in 2 periods was the right strategy against a struggling goalie.

Watched the last two thirds of third, da fuq was that?

I was being facetious about Rittich replacing Kuemper, tough shot to take coming in cold and a rolling puck. As much as I'm impressed with Laferriere he blew his coverage on that goal being the high forward, he crept in too close to the boards allowing Raantanen to burn past him for the goal.

I also don't know why Jill pulled Rittich with 2:44 left in a one goal game, way too early IMO. Not like they were down two, and it burned them almost immediately. Not a bright coaching move and not sure what the logic behind that one was.

DENVER — Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper left with an undisclosed injury early in the third period, and the Kings lost to the Colorado Avalanche, 4-2, on Wednesday night.

Wonder if he injured whatever kept him out a few weeks ago again, this was my concern with Jill riding him increasingly.

I'm still trying to figure out what type of coach he is, but one thing he definitely doesn't do different than McLellan is playing goalies too much.

Maybe Quick spoiled both of them but Talbot nor Kuemper are Quick and aren't built to play 60+ games a season.
