To me the Josh Smith score was the most exciting Ranger play I have seen in years. I put it ahead of the Eli White monster catch.

Both Matt Moore and Garrett Richards have historically been starters so i wouldn't be surprised to see one or both at least open with 2-4 innings on Saturday and Sunday

Glenn Otto should be back by Sunday right?
Hopefully only need a “Bullpen” game for saturday

don't know what Newberg's proposals are here, but in general, trading is easier than signing FA's in certain regards.
It was really easy to trade for Howard.

Dunning is starting on Friday.
For Saturday They could use Richards, Brock and Hearn to get through 7 innings I would imagine. With the extra rest days I’m sure the bullpen would be fine. Then Otto could start on Sunday. Call up Ragans Sunday night and have him pitch on Monday vs the Royals just in time for his next start.
Send John King down and Hearn take Kings spot in the bullpen.
To make room for the 40 man- axe Nick Snyder
No way in the planet they axe Snyder. He is a part of the future perhaps an not yet really tested

Is there a list of players that have to be added to the 40 man at end of year that would be rule 5 eligible?
We have a lot of minor league talent we just can’t keep all of them. Curious if we could piece a few trades together targeting certain returns another team may want in a bigger trade
I believe Scott Lucas has a spread sheet online that would tell you that.

Nick Snyder may be a part of the future but I don’t view him as much..
Guys like him can be picked up pretty easily on waivers or minor trades.
Why are you so high on him? Just curious

Giants to acquire Willie Calhoun, for Steven Duggar. Sounds like a guy to release the first time a roster spot is needed.

we need to ignore these so-called "experts" and stay firmly on the path we have chosen
I surely don’t want a Hamels type trade until we have our guys in place and making serous noise

But I’d we pick up some one that makes sense for the future without mortgaging the farm. Might not be bad. Maybe some lateral trades. Good for good

I wouldn't mind a Cliff Lee type trade in the future. I am not interested in a Hamels trade and I never really cared for Hamels being here at the time of the trade.

when you guys are describing trades as "Hamels" and "Lee," are you referring to the length of control or the talent of the player acquired?

Nice list!
Thank you for sharing. I looked, but couldn’t find it. You got skills @saddles
Definitely a handful of guys I do not want to lose. I counted 8.
Ryan Garcia should get an extra year due to not even playing in 20 or 21. Definitely do not want to lose him.

Pitches up to 98 mph and has done well in AAA.
Think he was recently injured. Need to catch up on him

Well both those trades involved losing high profile prospects but Hamels had more control

The common denominator was we were mediation contention needing finishing pieces
We are not at that point so it is a bit premature to make a move like that when we really have alot of spots up in the air

Speaking of the Lee trade. I met Blake Beavan the other day. The guy is huge lol. 6’7” and built

Well that is what I am wondering. Maybe a slight upgrade over Reks
Maybe we can flip him or keep if we let go of other OFs.
I guess we get a look see

Agree it is premature to even consider. Been wondering why so much talk about it.

Both of those plus where we were as an organization.
