I think for is the ball and the strike zone and the all or nothing swingsCould the industry be overanalyzing hitting, overthinking the subject?
Ovee 2500 of those PA are from the minor leagues. That is several hundred more minor league plate appearances than just about any prospect we have had to come up and have even a small level of success in the majors over the last 20 years or so. Between 500 and 1000 more minor league PA than either Blalock, Kinsler, Moreland, Odor, Gallo and Brinson got. It was over 2000 more than Teixeira got in the minors. There is one factor that I think some have overlooked when noticing Leody's performance this year. He has almost 3000 professional plate appearances. That is a lot even for someone at the AAA level. Does that make him a better hitter in the majors or does that just make him a very good AAAA player?
I didn't mean to include Brinson. I meant to include Mazara.Ovee 2500 of those PA are from the minor leagues. I am not sure what that means, but I just knew when I looked at his minor league numbers that over 2500 minor league plate appearances seemed like a lot.

I qualified it with our prospects over the last 20 years. That is all the research I wanted to do. LolWhat about Mike Napoli, Nelson Cruz, Michael Young, Joey Votto, Josh Donaldson, Justin Turner.. etc.
Also, Byron Buxton, his best comp, probably should have had about 800 more AB in the minors rather than being with the big club, he finally started to tear it up around age 25
What’s everyone’s thoughts on Jonathan Ornelas??

I bet Calhoun hit the ball hard and was just unluckyTwo hits for Huff tonight including another HR. Calhoun went 0 for 3 with a walk. Howard didn't pitch. Josh Smith didn't play again.
For Frisco, each of Ornelas, Foscue, Duran and Crim had 2 hits. Foscue had a double and both of Duran's hits were doubles.
And all of the Saber Zombies can explain why they think he is about to break through.I bet Calhoun hit the ball hard and was just unlucky
If Jeff Banister was still here, Calhoun would be in the majors still! And all of the Saber Zombies can explain why they think he is about to break through.
