"Pérez logged 5 2/3 innings in the 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball. Not only was it an effective outing for the undefeated Rangers, it marked the 31st consecutive game of at least five innings for Pérez.
That’s the longest such streak by a lefty in club history and the sixth-longest streak overall. Yu Darvish owns the Texas record at 56 straight games from 2012-14. Lance Lynn (2019-20) is at 41, and Nolan Ryan (1989-90) and Kevin Brown (1991-92) sit tied at 32."
Last year the average strikeouts per team varied by about 2.5 between the team that struck out the fewest and the team that struck out the most. The difference between the least and Detroit was about 1.5. So if Detroit struck out against a pitcher 12 times then that might work out to 11 against an average team for that same pitcher. Detroit or not, that was a fantastic performance.
Lol Tepid backtracks a bit since it was Detroit
