All I'm saying is, the rankings don't affect anything when it comes to what actually happens in the draft.

No, there is no cause and effect. The teams and some doing the mocks do use some of the same sources and they overlap a lot of theor evaluation methods. The teams do not pick based on what the mocks say, but the guys doing the mocks usually come up with a pretty good idea early on in the draft. All bets are off by the time the third round comes around though. Lol
