The Rangers return home to face their in-state rivals for a 4 game set to finish out the 10 game AL West jaunt. The Rangers come in with a better record in the past 10 than Houston, who are currently in 4th place, and a better run differential overall. The pitching was vastly improved during the series with the A's, with Texas only giving up 3 runs the entire series. Throwers:

Hearn, 7:05
Otto, 7:05
Perez, 1:05

Hearn is potentially pitching to stay in the rotation, and Otto gets a solid test to see where he's at.

Offensively, the Rangers are feast or famine.

I got confused by that too. Those posts were discussing when he started out his career, not right now.

Still out on Hearn. He has the stuff so guessing he like Howard has concentration lapse. Who knows?

Not sure it's a concentration issue. Still relatively green so the more experience the better. Sometimes I wonder about the pitching gameplan overall with the young guys. Saw Otto and Howard this weekend throw pitches in situations that seemed like called for a different pitch than what was thrown. Going low and outside when up and in would have made more sense, for example. Trying to get guys to chase pitches that weren't fooling anyone.

I'm not sure if they are trying to make these guys something they're not. But I do know that Hearn has had 3 starts; first start wasn't great and the next two were worse than the one before. He needs to reverse that trend, fast, or he won't be long for the rotation.
