Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner! Someone that understands that wentz is just a continuation of the same only failed policies of a poorly run franchise. just say no………it’s ok.
Then point to the obtainable solution . Wentz isnt the answer he is a placeholder . You will have to keep drafting qbs somewhere in the draft till you get one .

You cant give up 3 1sts and 2 other assets to get a Watson . You will be the Texans in 2 years and you wont get to a super bowl either

He can’t be a place holder ? Now I wouldn’t trade for the contract but we could do a lot worse

Outside of fear of their own abilities to make it work (and it can be done) why can't you trade 3 firsts and a player for Watson?

Your post says everything about that fear when you wrote "You will be the Texans in 2 years and you wont get to a super bowl either."

Now, it's true that things could go badly just as you say, but where does that leave you if you don't do something different? Might I suggest that you'd be Washington?

Let's not act as if we're better than anyone else that's mired in mediocrity. We are the poster child of doing little or nothing towards change.

So, this is what we're doing now?

Wasn't it you, me and several others who railed against this sort of thing when talking about Kirk Cousins??

This is a good and IMHO necessary debate, let's not ruin it by reverting to this stuff.

Look you can’t say qb x elevates players and then he goes 4-12. I will tell you KC doesn’t elevate players but he isn’t a guy we are advocating giving up 3 1sts and 2 more assets while wiping out your cap space

It might not be needed for all of em. Deron Payne has taken down all Skins related stuff on his intagram account. Least that's what I read in an article the other day. I did a search for it and didn't realize the story was as old as it was. Along with that was another gem. Deron Payne's dad was twitter bangin and facebook whoridin. That's funny n embarrassing.

Yeah, that's a while ago. He has since liked a lot of Commanders stuff on IG and attended Landon Collins' b day party. He could still be done, but I think he's moved on from the fight

They literally sold off his weapons for peanuts and despite all of that, he still was a top three passer in the league. He remains a top 3 passer in the league, that is why the asking price is as high as it is. Make no mistake, for all of the love that the very few still want to throw Kirk Cousins way he in a much lower stratosphere than D. Watson. I have proven this over the years with real evidence.

Moving on, I get the fear... 3 firsts and a player or two but at face value, (no trade downs for more picks) you're getting a pretty even trade value for value.

Not if he is suspended and/or jailed . And again I don’t know how you can bring a guy with a sex predator reputation to this team .

You aren’t just giving up the picks and the assets you are saying bye to Mac , settle , JD. Ionman , Payne ,, sweat. Maybe chase as well certainly Holcomb , and curl and gibby . The same type of fire sale the Texans are having . And 4 yrs before you have a chance at a blue chipper and 2-7 draft picks and UDRFA ‘s make us a 3 win team for half a decade

If Wentz gets cut, I could see him landing in Washington, as he'd be an upgrade and ya didn't have to lose picks/players to get him.

On the trade front though...what is Wentz really worth? He was outplayed in Philly, then replaced. He goes to Indy with Reich, so they know/understand each other. Indy has a good defense and running game. Yet, he still doesn't play all that well. I can't really see any team handing over a 1st for him, and I think a 2nd could be overpaying. Not to mention that contract he's carrying.

If the colts can get anything for him, they'll trade him, but the more I look at this guy, the more likely I think it is that he gets cut.

What about a guy who before going 4-12 went 3-3 in his rookie season before getting injured and put up some decent stats in playing those 6 na nd a some of a 7th, completed 61% of his passes for 1669 yards at 8.3 yards a pop, 19n TDs 8 INTs The INT numbber was high, b ut Watson impressed his rookie year. He then led the Texaans to 11-5 n 10-6 records. Stat-wise he was the 11th ranked QB in 2018, and the 13th ranked QB in 2019 while posting a 24-14 W/L regular season record up to that point, 2 division titles and a 1-2 post season record. In 2020 far as wons/losses went. it wasn't a banner year, but individually he was the number 1 ranked QB in the NFL.

Now I'm not a big believer in that "he makes players better," manatra unless by it someone means. The OL will try and hold their blocks a little longer, WRs will continue to run full speed and leave his feet for a pass they know is overthrown and a defense will continue to hustle even when they're tired as shit in the 4th quarter. Because they all believe that with that player as their QB. While they probably won't win every game. They do have a chance to win every game and the odds are real good that they will win more games than they lose when its all said n done.

And the 4-12 record imo falls moreso on the their coach at the time then Watson. O'Brien gave up two 1st rd pks n a 3rd pkm in the Tnstill trade and literally gave Hopkins away getting a 4th rd pk and a broken David Johnson in that trade. Neither move worked out for the Texans and likely pissed off n disappointed Watson especially the Hopkins trade. That's the good and now for the bad.

Given the hot water Snyder finds himself in at the moment. Acquiring Watson along with his issues to plainly put it. Would not be the best of looks speaking from an optics viewpoint. Winning football games would take care of that though. On how I view Watson personally. While it wouldn't surprise me to find out some of the women numbered among the 22 are outright lying or fakin the funk to an extent far as what they are claiming. It would surprise me quite a bit if it was discovered that all 22 are lying or fakin the funk. There's way too much smoke for there to be no fire imo. WTF, you shouldn't have to be involved with 22 different anything if you're Watson. You find a chef you like and you hire him/her. Same goes for a strength/conditioning coach or personal trainer as well as one masseuse. Sure, try a couple out and get some opinions from other people who have a masseuse, whatever. But going from one to another than another and another. Hell, You gotta know that's gonna end up in disastrer . Especially if you're slapping some, most, or all of them on the ass with your boner or whatever his go to move was. C ombine that with what Watson would cost in a trade as well as his injury history

"Not if he is suspended and/or jailed" is an understandable concern, but you cannot operate on fear, it paralyzes and leads to second-guessing/doubts when something MUST be done. I suggest that they do their due diligence then make the necessary moves, whatever it takes to end this decades-long quandary at QB. Odds are Watson will be dealt, most likely to the NFC and based on that alone, there are two teams with the most cap space to make it work (Seattle/ Washington), and of those ONLY one with the draft capital/assets to make it work. (Washington)

BTW; considering the state of affairs in Ashburn, I cannot imagine a better place to land for a player with " a sex predator reputation" as you call it.

Ron Rivera and Co. must admit to their original sin,... building a defense-first! The NFL for some time now has been a QB league and that translates into offense, not the defense. In fact, the last 10 SB participants (five years) have had defenses ranked 15th, 17th, 8th, 13th, 7th, 4th, 10th, 21st, 4th, and 29th this year backward respectively. Their combined scores were 139 - 85 or an average of 27.8 points scored, per game. So what Washington has to do now is a total recalibration... Powerful offense first coupled with a "good enough" defense. Remember that it was one single solitary season ago that the more common position here was an improved season led by this defense despite that one voice telling everyone who would listen, NO!!

You wrote... " you are saying bye to Mac, settle, JD. Ionman, Payne, sweat. Maybe chase as well certainly Holcomb, and curl and Gibby ." Washington would be foolish to merely allow any of them to walk away freely, so that is a possibility, but perchance they aren't that careless, each of these losses will return some sort of asset (not fire sales) that can be used to retool, correct?

If Wentz is cut and we can get him for a relatively cheap incentive based contract, I wouldn't be mad at a Wentz, Willis, Heinicke QB room.

Wentz hasn't shown enough over the past few years to warrant punting on QB in this draft. Jmo Not the best QB class, but I've seen worse. The EJ Manual class comes to mind.

Keim even stated that he heard from an NFL scout that had Pickett rated over Mac Jones. Most people do feel the best QB out of this class would have gone after Jones.

Still think once Willis runs around in shorts and throws deep outs on a rope he's gonna skyrocket up the board.
