  • CARSON WENTZQB, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
    Carson Wentz

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Carson Wentz will "'probably" be traded or released before the start of the new league year.

The new league year is when Wentz's $15 million base salary becomes fully guaranteed. Wentz's future in Indy looks "bleak," according to Mortensen, which doesn't come as a surprise given how the Colts' season ended and the lack of support Wentz has received this offseason. Wentz is unlikely to draw interest on the trade market and the Colts will be taking a $13.3 million dead money hit if they release in March.

You would think he would want to come here to play the Eagles twice a year. Colts gave up a 1 and 3 for this guy and he only last one year (non-injury). Wow!!! Kiper thought it was a steal for the Colts to get Wentz. lol.

He should be the top FA QB on the market. Rather have him than Grap.
I think Wentz is broken, and word is the Philly locker room hated him. He'd probably be way down on my list, but he was a top 10 QB at one point. If he can somehow recapture that, could be a steal.

I know he had Taylor, but he has a good year last year. If RR doesn't love these QB's and he is a FA he should be on top of the list. Unless they are going to start a rookie QB

That loss to Jacksonville.....smh

I'm not opposed to it if we strike out elsewhere. Getting Wentz and saving #11 for the top WR in the draft isn't the worst idea. Just depends on what you think of Wentz.

I dont understand why we need a WR on this team after signing Samuel to a big deal. Assuming Tmac gets a long-term deal. They can use #11 on a LB like the kid from Utah. Or if Hamilton somehow slips you take him too sure up the secondary.

You could probably get him for a 3rd rounder.....the Colts just want him gone.

Colts could just release him. Could get him for no draft capital at all.

Sure but they are going to try and get something for him.....and the way the WFT season went.....offering a 3rd wouldn't be too bad but I think they are gonna do their best to get something and not just release him.

Well, there is a contract issue. He could get released.

They have said they want a vet MLB. Campbell from Green Bay is all-pro and young. Packers will probably have to use their franchise tag on Adams.

What do we really have in Brown. Even is Samuel comes back, I want to match what Dallas has at WR. This team needs playmakers.

There is no way we are giving up on Brown. We have our 3 wr's. We have our 2 pass catching backs assuming jd comes back and we have our TE's assuming RSJ comes back. The offensive skilled positions are fine. Its just the QB that needs to be fixed.

I like Brown in the 4 slot. Keim has said as much on his podcast. Said Skins should look at wr in the 1st if QB is solved pre draft.

JP Finlay wants WR at 11. Not saying you are wrong and not saying Keim and JP are the end all be all. Just pointing out that my view isn't a hot take.

Sign a #2 WR like Williams or Gallup and draft LB Dean at 11. We need a MLB and safety, perhaps shut down corner on defense.

I think we need a MLB that can call out plays and won't have a learning curve. I'd like to go the vet route considering Davis and Holcomb are young, but I like Dean.

A free agent WR is gonna be pricey.

The abilities of Dean, Davis and Holcomb together would be enticing. Agree with your thoughts on vet presence there.
