It occurs to me that regardless of the team’s new name, it will still be years before fans stop singing this song. Makes me sad for our stadium band and fans.
hate to see players injured but he just isn't very good
I have them winning 5 to 6 games this year. Take note of the fact that the Buccaneers wrote the game plan against this defense and each and every team has attacked it in the same manner this year.Yep. Could it be that last year's defense was the mirage and this year's defense is who they reallyu are. Heiney is a gamer, that doesn't change the fact that he was again late on a few throws and extremely lucky on a couple others that should've been picks including one that might've went for 100+ yards.
On the plus side. It was great ti finally seee one of tyhe newbie WRs actually do something of substance. Very sweet KO RET TD from Carter
And yet, like Charlie Brown with Lucy holding the football, fans get jacked, thinking this time, for real... THIS TIME, it's going to be different. Just like poor Ole' Charlie Brown. The problem is we've seen this movie before. Teams start off bad, continues to stay shakey throughout mid-season. They then get gritty, rally around one another and finish the year strong to win a not so good NFC East. Get ass paddled out of the playoffs with a quickness. Leaving the fan-base hopeful that they've finally turned a corner and are on the way back to respectability and possibly, hopefully, something more.
Year 2 rolls around, posters are excited about draft picks, FA pick ups, the HC is talking a good game etc. Opening day arrives and its like the team that finished the season last year has been pod peopled. There's players out there wearing the same numbers from last year, but they aren't doing the same things they were doing at the end of last year.
What makes this year particularly frustrating is the coaching and play on the defensive side of the ball. Jack Del Rio has turned into Greg Manusky or Jim Haslett. Plain vanilla schemes, no blitzing, playing way too soft in zone, ill timed penalties, no discipline very few turn overs, shitty tackling, and most frustrating of all. can't get off the damn field on 3rd dn. And the really shitty is it happens in some form or another every year after the Skins make the playoffs. You could literally set clocks by this shit.

I like Heinicke, dude is a gamer and my first choice as the backup to whomever becomes the starter. I'd thank bot Fitz and Allen for their service and wish them well in future endeavors once the season ends.
As I've been stating all along, this team is a QB away from being serious contenders as currently built.

country, the above statement is just wrong. You couldn't just say, "hate to see players injured"? This is an awful day for an NFL player who likely realizes his potential to earn for his family just came to an abrupt end.hate to see players injured but he just isn't very good
I totally get what Sty is trying to say. Every year each team looks to improve at every position, otherwise there would be NO draft. Guys are replaced each year in every organization at every level. The "Dudes" remain because they are just that, dudes. While our team could improve at just about every position, so could 25-28 other teams in this league without a so called franchise qb. As you know, we are a qb away and possibly improvement from a few other positions but QB, if you do not have one (we don't), you are pretty fuk'd with your lone long term goal of winning a SB. Bottom line is we are hoping our backup QB can lead us to victories and the promise land but reality tells all of us, you need more from your QB position to even have a fighters chance in today's passing league known as the NFL.So you’re simultaneously saying that this team will win 5-6 games, but is also a qb away from being serious contenders.
Way to cover all your bases.
I think this team will win somewhere between 4-15 games while also being a qb, a lb corps, a few cb’s, and a legit free aafety away from being amazing.
What they dont need is a qb, and more lb’s, and another free safety.
There! I did a Sty.
It was a bad call, a call I thought the referees spent the rest of the game trying to make up for. (McLaurin fumbled)The roughing the passer on young was a terrible call. One of the worst of the year, in my opinion. He didnt hit him in the head. He didn't hit him with his head. He didn't pull him to the ground. Ryan still had the ball. Ryan still was able to get rid of the ball. There were no players around Ryan or Chase, so it isnt like the view was obstructed. It was just a bullshit, "what the fuck?!?!?!?!" call.
This crew of referees was awful all game long.
Both teams tried to win .... and lose.No one can outAtlanta Atlanta lol

What utter nonsense! Do you make this stuff up in your head, not think about what it is, then post it? Take any of the top team's QB away from them and they become average at best. It not covering my bases, it's actually looking at the NFL for what it is... A QB driven league!!So you’re simultaneously saying that this team will win 5-6 games, but is also a qb away from being serious contenders.

I think that you're right about the Giants, Eagles are ballin' and are "in" their games thus far in the season. Considering that final game a year ago against them, without significant improvement in play from our guys, it's gonna be difficult to get more than a split from them. The Saints haven't settled their QB situation yet, but their defense is stout and will give our team trouble. Panthers, Seahawks, Raiders and Dall-ass, will be favorites to win, if all holds true with respect to current status of all teams involved when they play one another. So where you see, 9 or 10 (WOW!!) I see one or two from the list that you provided.Saints, Broncos, Panthers, Seahawks, Raiders, Giants, Eagles(2). Maybe we can steal one from Dallas. Even if Dallas sweeps us, still possible 10 win season.

Well one thing would be certain with such a player, our defense would spend a lot more time on the sidelines and out of harms way. I just posted a new thread (46??) and would appreciate input on a possible immediate fix for the defense. (btw; it doesn't have to be a Watson type, just an elite or better classified, next level type) I'm only on the Watson train because he's become available and that, for a player of his caliber has never happened in the history of the game. It's a QB driven league ole' friend, having one of those always puts your team in that conversation, so YES is the answer to your question.Sty, let's say we drafted/signed a Deshaun Watson type player. Would that still be enough to get us a home playoff win, with the way our defense is playing?
I'm second guessing that a very good/elite QB is all we need. LB is bad, very bad.
The coaches had time to address and even go after some LBs that were cut. i'm concerned
Yeah, the idea behind it is putting tremendous pressure on the QB by always having at least one man free to get in his face immediately. This would mean that they would have even less time to get rid of the ball and your coverage guys wouldn't have to worry about a lot of deep stuff, so (again in theory) they could then jump the quick stuff (seeing the ball leave the QB's hand) leading to more turnovers. The opposing offense would have to go max protect with their TE and running back or risk getting their QB killed.fair enough! Although TH isn't the long term answer, he has shown, that we can win shootouts.
I replied without giving it much thought but im not sure we have the secondary to handle a 46, even in 3 wr sets( i said empty would destroy 4-6 but no one would call 4-6 vs empty)
if im not mistaken 46 only leaves a safety and ILB to cover the middle, 1 deep and the corners get no help
