All I can say is Hallelujah! So glad it’s not Denver! Woo!!!
Happy for Sam.
For a minute there I thought he might be stuck in Denver. Close call.
The Panthers can still tender his 5th year option giving them 2 seasons to determine what, if any, long term deal they want to sign him toI feel like the Jets are getting good draft value for Darnold simply because the perception of the old coaching is so bad that it elevates whoever played for him.
I hate this for the Panthers on many levels. The Panthers got unlucky last year. This year they could end up going 8-8 or 10-6 with Teddy Bridgewater if a dozen plays happen differently. Instead, if that happens with Darnold then they might sign him and see a repeat of the same issues from before where they are giving a contract to a QB who isnt a top 20 QB
I like it for both
Darnald ends up in a situation with weapons and some bright offensive minds on the coaching staff, and still have a chance to add a premium player in the top 10
Jets do as good as they could wish considering the dwindling number of teams QB needy
A 2nd, 4th, and 6th is honestly a pretty decent haul. You dont really see better value for QBs with a 6.6 YPA and nearly even TD to INT ratio. The jets were probably the ones that made the bad deal... they basically gave him away...
I kinda feel the same way, this doesn't seem to be too much to give up. And those 2022 picks could be lower down the list if they have a good seasonI don't get how it is a bad trade for the Panthers... in fact I think it is a great trade for them... they get a prrvious top 5 pick QB for cheap...

Then there will be no excuses this time when Sad Sam fails. Again.
So glad my team didn't make this mistake, shocked at how many fans wanted to give him a shot.

You guys get a new QB on a new rookie contract. You have many, many picks to fix things. Hope and Change. Wait and Hope. Whatever floats your boat but thats what a rebuild looks like.
It's obvious that he was in a terrible situation. But that does not explain all of his problems. We've seen first round busts on bad teams all our lives, how often do they go to a new team and suddenly turn good? Tannehill is the closest thing we have as an example and he was never Darnold bad in Miami and he's now got the best run game in the league to help him. They gave up very little for a 23 year old with upside, to add to a talented roster. It’s a risk/reward move for sure, but no team is going anywhere with Teddy Bridgewater as a starting QB, I don’t think that could be said for certain with Darnald until he gets a shot in a functional situation
