Kind of a heavy price to pay for a bum QB, but he’s still young. Carolina must think they can still develop him into a QB that maybe, hopefully can complete over 60% of his passes some day.

Jets gonna get a quality QB in draft for sure

I like it for both

Darnald ends up in a situation with weapons and some bright offensive minds on the coaching staff, and still have a chance to add a premium player in the top 10

Jets do as good as they could wish considering the dwindling number of teams QB needy

Happy for Sam.

For a minute there I thought he might be stuck in Denver. Close call.

There’s enough trash QBs in Denver, thank you very much. Cannot afford to take on everyone else’s trash like the Lions did with Goff.

Well, it's pretty clear they gave up on Deshaun. And at this point, that's certainly for the best. What's not clear is what happens with pick #8 on 4/26. Maybe they're thinking Jones and Fields will be gone, came to their senses about taking Lance that early, and going with BPA. If Pitts is available, that would lessen the sting over this. IDK if Darnold can become serviceable or not.

It will be fun to watch Sam with light weapons and a decent coaching staff.
As for Denver - you will now look at Teddy Two Gloves

I feel like the Jets are getting good draft value for Darnold simply because the perception of the old coaching is so bad that it elevates whoever played for him.

I hate this for the Panthers on many levels. The Panthers got unlucky last year. This year they could end up going 8-8 or 10-6 with Teddy Bridgewater if a dozen plays happen differently. Instead, if that happens with Darnold then they might sign him and see a repeat of the same issues from before where they are giving a contract to a QB who isnt a top 20 QB

The Panthers can still tender his 5th year option giving them 2 seasons to determine what, if any, long term deal they want to sign him to

I don't get how it is a bad trade for the Panthers... in fact I think it is a great trade for them... they get a prrvious top 5 pick QB for cheap...

The jets were probably the ones that made the bad deal... they basically gave him away...

Then there will be no excuses this time when Sad Sam fails. Again.

So glad my team didn't make this mistake, shocked at how many fans wanted to give him a shot.

A 2nd, 4th, and 6th is honestly a pretty decent haul. You dont really see better value for QBs with a 6.6 YPA and nearly even TD to INT ratio.

You guys get a new QB on a new rookie contract. You have many, many picks to fix things. Hope and Change. Wait and Hope. Whatever floats your boat but thats what a rebuild looks like.

I kinda feel the same way, this doesn't seem to be too much to give up. And those 2022 picks could be lower down the list if they have a good season

They gave up very little for a 23 year old with upside, to add to a talented roster. It’s a risk/reward move for sure, but no team is going anywhere with Teddy Bridgewater as a starting QB, I don’t think that could be said for certain with Darnald until he gets a shot in a functional situation

The jets lose all value they could have gotten for him... its a gamble, but it could have paid off... especially if they want their QB of the future to be a clipboard QB this season...

the haul isn't bad... I just think Carolina got the best of this deal and it is not even close... If Darnold finds any success with Carolina, they paid nothing and got a decent starting QB... If he doesn't find success, at least they didn't pay a first rounder to get a QB... and will likely once again be a bottom feeder, so they will have another opportunity to get that QB...

It's obvious that he was in a terrible situation. But that does not explain all of his problems. We've seen first round busts on bad teams all our lives, how often do they go to a new team and suddenly turn good? Tannehill is the closest thing we have as an example and he was never Darnold bad in Miami and he's now got the best run game in the league to help him.

The one thing I like about this is that it frees up the Panthers to take someone a little more proven than the 5th best QB with their first round pick this year. They're in a really good spot to get a starter at a position of need regardless of whether their QB was Bridgewater or Darnold.
