I think it's worth asking if he's the biggest bust of all-time. I might lean towards yes.

:pound:

Of course you'd incorrectly lean toward yes, yer a Ohio Stater Hater. And # 2 overall pick Rick Mirer sayz hello. :heh: But he's not all time bust right?

You're funny. Haskins was picked at 15. And you think he should be mentioned with the likes of these high picks: Tim Couch & JaMarcus Russell (# 1 ), Ryan Leaf (# 2), Joey Harrington & Akili Smith (# 3)?

Now for a first round pick yep he's a bust. But not all time bust.

Heard Myer's is being pursued by a few NFL teams as a HC... Haskins could end up on one of those if Myers does become a HC...

I'd be curious to see what kind of offense he'd run. I'd like to see him in the NFL. Day runs a more pro style offense than Urban.

Eh

15th pick? JaMarcus was the top pick. Leaf 2nd. Not to mention when you talk of the money committed to JaMarcus as to Dwayne.

Dwayne will land with a backup job somewhere. Hopefully this humbles him and he figures himself out. Can still have a long career as a backup. Certainly worse lots in life.

Russell and Leaf are the obvious comparisons, but they both played in a much different league, especially Leaf. Haskins has awful stats, his stats don't look as bad given he accumulated numbers in which the games were already decided. He's literally the only reason why WFT hasn't already clinched the division too. He's 1-5 as a starter this season.

I think he'll get picked up, but I can't ever see him starting another game based on his actual performance.

Yes he absolutely should be mentioned with those guys. Dude couldn't even make it two years. All those guys weren't any good, but there are varying degrees of awfulness. Harrington threw for almost 15,000 yards and almost 80 TD's. Couch threw for over 11,000 yards and 64 TD's. Plus it's never been easier to play QB in the NFL.

From top 15 pick to being released in the next calendar year.

Jalen Hurts didn't look so great yesterday, maybe Philly takes a flyer as payback for the McNabb thing?

Has there ever been a 1st round QB drafted that was released faster than Haskins? That alone would make him one of the biggest busts...

Given what they gave up to trade into position I'm still going with Ryan Leaf over the 15th pick miss. Same with J Russell, again given the draft capital.

But as far as being bad, lazy, and all around punk he's in the running for sure. Cut before the end of his second season, doubt any other 1st round busts have that on their resume.

Look at the top 14 picks of the 2007 draft... It was stacked with pro bowlers that year (highlighted in yellow)... Look who the Raiders could've had... Now granted, the QB's in this class were not every good and all of them did not have a very long career in the NFL...

Not a lot of great options at QB in that class... Trent Edwards turned out to be the better of them but that's not saying a lot..

I agree, those two are definitely 2 of the all time busts... Heath Schuler was another one...

2 things:

1: I'll steal some lyrics from a Kenny Chesney song and morph them...

" Stupid is what Stupid does..."

2. I don't know if it was this or just lazy but ESPN just did a post from reaction from current and former pros. It hit the nail on the head.

He needs to do three things

Sit back, Reflect on the mistakes, learn from them.

Kolb wasn't bad....

Wasn't good but wasn't crap.

And Ted Ginn was never a pro Bowler.

Even as a KR/PR????????

Haskins is probably the fastest I have ever seen a team give up on a first round QB. But it also seems like the right move.
