The Q
Hoop’s Villain, Reality’s Hero
17 mil isn't unreasonable for a starting veteran QB, at all.
but with Brady’s cap space there that’s 30m for the position. I doubt they want to do that.

i keep having more and more of a feeling that the pats sign jameis, its just a hunch, nothing to it. probably wont happen.
Watch BB trade for trubs, send a 4th to chicago.......

i was joking about mitch until i typed it, i could see it. I could see BB taking a shot just because jameis has the tools, and well its BBI could see them trading for Mitch to compete with Stidham before signing Jameis. I don't think we would get a 4th, though. I also envision them signing Dalton over Winston.
I don't know... Winston just comes off like an air head. I have a hard time envisioning him being a BB guy. If anyone could shape him up, though? It's them.
Jeff Hughes is a Bears insider whose been on top of a lot of stories before they've broken and is saying the Bears have been actively shopping Mitch for weeks.

I dunno r they really ready to hand it to a 4th rounder? Maybe.... but I think bb ego says he needs to do very well this year.... I see some type of vet. Or a crazy draft moveI;m in the dark like everybody else.
My guess is we are ready to start Stidham over mortgaging our future.
Now if a vet QB wants a prove it deal? Who knows.
Very likely looking at a QB in the draft not getting a lot of buzz? But would BB start him?
Could Winston be of any value in mentoring a draft pick? Doubtful.
Could red rifle put up a decent effort and get out of the way in the playoffs? History says no.
This would be great and make for an angry BB...
Sure that makes sense . Take a QB who will be 37 this year who had 27 tds vs a guy who will still be only 23 and accounted for 43 tds. I would take the unanoimous MVP and youngest Heisman winner in a heartbeat in NE. Kid is a leader and team rallies around him, and you can have the other guy
With Brady gone, who will be the next Patriots starting quarterback?
Derek Carr?
Andy Dalton?
Cam Newton?
Jarrett Stidham?
Jameis Winston?
Brian Hoyer's agent claims his client will be given a chance to earn the Patriots' starting job.
Hoyer's 2020 salary — only $1 million from the Patriots and $2 million in possible incentives — begs to differ. Hoyer will get another $1 million from the Colts. If Hoyer starts, it would be with tanking in mind. We highly doubt that will end up Bill Belichick's approach. The Pats still have many avenues to upgrade their quarterback room, and they should be fully expected to do so.
Belichick will find a way to win. They need to go back to the basics. It would be prudent to use a new QB. The Brady situation has not allowed QB or WR development, lately, and that’s on him. I think Brady is great, but also am glad he is gone. New blood is needed in NE. Been a Patriot fan since 1976. Enough is enough. Love the team and will stick around post Brady.
