NO because they are in the AL East and the Yankees are heavily favored to win that division and it is highly doubtful that the Rays can win the World Series even if they become a wild card. On the other hand, the Twins have a very good shot at winning their division and going deep into the playoffs.

Nationals just won the WS as a WC.

I see it as a good value because you can almost pencil in the Rays for a spot in the crapshoot at this stage. 30-1 odds for a team that figures to be 1 of 8 with a shot seems like a great value to me.

I would be equally happy if the Rays lost 90. Just to be on the record. :)

I have been successfully winning in all sports for a long time which has included some nice wins on futures. In most cases when you take any team to win a championship at 25 to 1 or more your chances of winning that bet are slim and none. I like the Twins at 25 to 1 but only for a small amount of money and I don't make many futures bets to begin with because it ties up bankroll for an entire season. It's all about money management and picking your spots.

I will just put it this way....if they don't win the World Series, it will be a huge disappointment.

Basically, this. They ARE the favorites on paper, it should be the expectation of both their fans and the general public that they win the world series. Anything less is certainly "lol" worthy.

That doesn't mean, though, that it's wrong to think that they'll choke it away like they have been. My view is "Yeah, they're the favorites. It doesn't mean that I think they're necessarily going to get it done, though."

At the end of the day... I have no reason to think that Roberts is going to stop handing Kershaw the ball in every big spot that he can. If Kershaw keeps shitting himself in those spots - it's going to be tough to overcome that and win a world series.
