There's no way Houston was still stealing signs last year right?
I mean they knew damn well MLB was starting to look at them for violations, they couldn't be the foolish

MLB new about the cheating in 2017 and 2018 but didn't do anything about it until Fiers spoke out. They may have taken away the banging in 2019, but to me that opens up the possibility of the wireless buzzers said to be on at least Altuve and Bregman. Cheaters find ways to cheat.

Report: MLB took steps to stop the Astros from stealing signs during the 2019 season

Since Mich won’t see the field until mid June with this current “set back”

Ya but will a guy who has never played in AAA and hit in the .240's really matter? Actually this is a better signing than the old pitching signings which I just don't get even when excused as innings eaters. You can eat innings with young player who have a potential future.

I said it above because they are trying to get butts in the seats at Safeco, target the Asian community cause they will come in and spend money in the ball park.... Its a marketing move plan and simple!

Seems like a solid deal for both sides. In reality he is a number 3 starter and that's decent value for that

Ya I think this and the Evan White deals were both solid for both sides. I like these deals and hope we have more talent to do this with. Haniger would have been a great one to do at the start or even end of last year but now I don't know if he will ever play an entire season or be the next Eric Davis. The old joke is; 'What does Eric Davis and Magic Johnson have in common? They both play 81 games a year'. You might be able to update that joke to Damian Lillard and Mitch Haniger...

Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto confirmed Tuesday that Mitch Haniger underwent his sports hernia surgery.
Dipoto declined to provide any updates beyond that, telling reporters that he will wait until Haniger arrives at spring training and meets with the team's medical staff before offering a projected recovery timetable. It is expected that the 29-year-old outfielder will miss at least the first week or two of the 2020 regular season, but there should be more clarity on the situation later this month. Jake Fraley and Braden Bishop stand to see increased opportunities in Mariners camp.

Taijuan Walker held a workout in front of about 20 scouts on Tuesday, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
Nightengale hears that Walker, who returned late last year from Tommy John surgery, sat around 85-88 mph with his fastball during the workout. His career average fastball velocity is 94 mph, and he sat at 93.3 mph during his one appearance with the Diamondbacks in 2019. The 27-year-old will likely have to settle for a non-guaranteed minor league contract if he wants to land with a club before the beginning of spring training.

Not to sound like a dick, "but seriously who cares!"
I mean their young talent in the outfield is so damn deep let the kids play find their place in this game.
I love Mitch, I love his fire but Seager has putting a sour taste in M's fans mouth for years with injuries.

Now they have younger talent to replace these injury prone vets so let them play!

Yikes that explains why he's not signed yet.

Wish the best for him

I almost agree with all of this. Definitely the year to see if Bishop and Fraley amount to anything, even a 4th OF. However I kind of thought it would be a big year for Haniger in terms of what his future is here. It would have been nice to see him have a good 1st half and then trade him. But it kind of seems like we are just kind of stuck with him after getting teased so often

Saw the tweet and the post by PV. Paxton has had a real rough go of things physically over this pro years. It's too bad. When he is healthy and on his game he's killer lights out. Tough break for a good and decent guy. Hope the best for James.

Second young pitcher claimed that we released because of our need for 35+ old vets in our rebuild...
