It is ironic and sad that we covet a RH bat, yet at the same time we refuse to get rid of the second baseman to make room for Solak's bat. A great answer is staring them right in the face. We need some new decision makers in a bad way.

I agree with other people’s sentiment here that one more decent bat would give us a punchers chance at a wild card.

not saying we should build our team with the wildcard in mind, but it does seem like we would have a shot at it with a decent offense.

May become necessary to alternate Solak and Odor. Not the best choice but may be the only one we have if we don't get a RH bat

I wonder what it would take to get Jon Berti from the Marlins? He is very versatile, hits for good avg, draws walks, has speed and can play CF and 3B. He’s an overall complete player that should produce 4 WAR if he gets to play everyday.

We have a place for Solak. The problem is not where the place is. It is 2B and up to JD to do the right thing. To be fair, Solak and Odor should have equal opportunity to open the season as the 2B starter in ST. It is up to JD to see this happens. Will he? Has not to date but we'll see.

It’s not even a question in my mind.

odor will be the opening day second basemen no matter what.

rangers management is hoping and praying that rat face has a good year so all of this goes away, but I still think they would have to be the biggest idiots ever to resign him. Odor already got one over on them once. He’s barely resembled a major league caliber player the last few years.

We don’t need him anyway. We don’t need to be signing cost-effective and proven relievers to improve our bullpen when we can just stick a bunch of failed minor league starting pitchers out there. I mean, Jeffrey Springs is essentially the same pitcher... you know, because he is a baseball player whose position is listed as pitcher. Same thing.

Instead, we need to be saving that money so we can pretend to be interested in signing hitters.

It’s comical at this point. There’s only 3 explanations to explain why castellanos and a reliever who would make the roster weren’t signed. All 3 reasons suck. They are :

1) The owners are a bunch of tightwads

2) management believes way too much in our guys.

-With the way condor hit last year, we needed to bring in someone who could easily step in if he shits the bed at the plate.

- Jeffrey springs has no business being on this roster.

3) the owners don’t give a shit. They just pretend that they do.


It could be anyone of the 3 or a combination of them, but I’m disappointed that they decided to make our starting pitching better, but they’re pretty much leaving our lineup and bullpen alone. Both of those areas needed a little help as well.

Well Jeffrey Springs is no longer on the team. We traded him to the Redsox for Sam Travis.
Travis could be a potential RH to platoon with Guzman at 1B. I’d rather Solak or Heinemann do the platooning though.
But rest assured Springs is no longer on our roster.
Condor has been working out this offseason with Nelly Cruz and He looks big and strong. He might tear the cover off the ball this year.

Our Bullpen is pretty decent
Leclerc
Chavez
Montero
Joely Rodriguez
Brett Martin
N Goody
Farrell
And guys like Huang, Edinson Volquez, Nicasio, Flynn, Dillard, Gibaut
And don’t forget big boy Demarcus Evans. Dudes a beast.
Relief pitchers are kind of hot or cold and not all that consistent.
Having a lot of depth with potential should lead to having a strong 7 guys in the bullpen. 1 Long Reliever and 5 starters to make up the 13 pitchers.
A lot of the guys who don’t make the 26 man can go down to AAA and if someone at the major league level struggles just call the guy riding a hot hand up to the show.
