Firing Joe Paterno was the wrong way of firing him.

I am 100% "posative" that had Paterno or McQueary or anyone else involved went to the cops there would have been a better chance of something coming out.

"Professionals who come into contact with children are required to report when they have reasonable cause to suspect that a child under the care, supervision, guidance or training of that person or of their agency, institution or organization is an abused child. In addition, any person may report suspected abuse, even if the individual wishes to remain anonymous." - Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

Now do you understand that he needs no proof?

I'm noticing that 99% of the people who defend Paterno are Steeler or Eagles fans. Coincidence? Anyway, to MISK, yeah, maybe he lays low and starts up again somewhere else, but to use that as an excuse to not do your best to stop it is reprehensible. So, if I see some dude murdering somebody on the street, I shouldn't call the cops because "Meh, he'll probably be long gone anyway". Sorry but that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. JoePa had some fault for sure, I do kind of wish they met him at his house and at least told him to resign immediately
with the amount of people just hanging out outside his home in support of him, it would have not been a smart move on their part.

McQuery should have stopped Sandusky right there when he saw it happening, yet all he did was run away and call his dad - truth

he told his dad and Joe Paterno neither really was the right options and both were quite pointless he should have told the higher ups and called the police. - truth

the higher ups are the others at fault, I'm sure JoePa told them and was sure they would take care of it properly because Joe obviously had trust in them, and they didn't thus they failed their own job in taking care of the integrity of the university. They let these things go on in their own college and didn't do anything about it, why aren't they under fire for this????? - they should be under fire, but that doesnt mean nobody else be at fault

No problem with you either, I'm just pointing out, that people from Pennsylvania or with ties to the area, i.e. Steeler and Eagle fans, seem to lean towards support for JoePa. Again, I don't care what the situation is, if somebody comes to me and tells me that my co-worker is showering with little boys, I'm not going to my manager. I'm calling the cops. JoePa has a moral obligation to do anything in his power to defend the defenseless. Telling the boss, then going into a shell doesn't qualify. Legally, he's fine, morally, he's despicable.

This is an epic fail by the entire faculty at Penn St, and yes, that includes Paterno. Like I said, if a co-worker came to me and said he witness a grown man showering with a young boy, I'm calling the police, and they can sort it out. I'm not calling my boss and relying on him to do my moral duty.

im not saying its a law. The only argument i have heard from anybody is that he cant go to the police because he has no proof. Show i just tried to explain that he doesnt need it. Im not arguing that he something legally, because he didnt. But morally, he should have tried to put a stop to it. I dont see how someone who allows a child molester to ****** children is any worse than the molester himself. If you know someone is bombing a building, you are going to report it. If not, i think your just as responsible as the person who planted the bomb. Thats the way im looking at the situation.

IT WOULD BE A HARD SPOT TO BE IN BUT I know what I would do,,,,I would get both guys in the same room and confront him about it and if the showering with a child was true,I would hand him the phone and tell him call the police. Or I will
