Firing Joe Paterno was the wrong way of firing him.

I don't know. I wasn't in the room. And I'm also not an investigator. But that's what they get paid for. Fact of the matter is, someone gives you the type of info Paterno received, you turn it over to the police that very second.

So, are you telling me if somebody bends you over against your will and has their way, you're just going to shrug your shoulders and say, 'What's the point? These guys are hard to catch? and go on about your business. What if it was one of your own kids? I think not.

so you people are 100% posative that if joe called the cops that it would have stopped sanduski from molesting children ?? what evedence did he have at the time to convince the police of this ?? all he had was an accusation from another person to go on .. wheres the proof is what the police would have asked .. pedifile enabler I think not

you can play what ifs all fucking day. a phone call probably wouldn't have stopped it..but it would have stopped it at PSU and there wouldn't be any questions to JoePa's actions today.

I may not have stopped him, but the chances of him getting caught earlier would've have increase exponentially. To think otherwise is being ignorant.

You

can
NOT

be serious

A child was raped, there was plenty of evidence if someone ANYONE had actually bothered to call the police ESPECIALLY if it was someone with as much power as JoPa

But he couldn't be bothered

This is just embarrassing the way you want to dismiss this.

Do you KNOW what happens to pedophiles and child rapists in jail and prison?

Once conviction and this guy isn't a problem for kids anymore. And there would have been ample proof for a conviction if ANYONE had bothered bringing this to the police. A grown man banging a 10 year old, there was plenty of evidence.

JoePa had some fault for sure, I do kind of wish they met him at his house and at least told him to resign immediately

but he's not at the biggest fault

McQuery should have stopped Sandusky right there when he saw it happening, yet all he did was run away and call his dad

he told his dad and Joe Paterno neither really was the right options and both were quite pointless he should have told the higher ups and called the police.

the higher ups are the others at fault, I'm sure JoePa told them and was sure they would take care of it properly because Joe obviously had trust in them, and they didn't thus they failed their own job in taking care of the integrity of the university. They let these things go on in their own college and didn't do anything about it, why aren't they under fire for this?????

I am 100% "posative" that had Paterno or McQueary or anyone else involved went to the cops there would have been a better chance of something coming out.

"Professionals who come into contact with children are required to report when they have reasonable cause to suspect that a child under the care, supervision, guidance or training of that person or of their agency, institution or organization is an abused child. In addition, any person may report suspected abuse, even if the individual wishes to remain anonymous." - Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

Now do you understand that he needs no proof?

I'm noticing that 99% of the people who defend Paterno are Steeler or Eagles fans. Coincidence? Anyway, to MISK, yeah, maybe he lays low and starts up again somewhere else, but to use that as an excuse to not do your best to stop it is reprehensible. So, if I see some dude murdering somebody on the street, I shouldn't call the cops because "Meh, he'll probably be long gone anyway". Sorry but that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I hope you people who think JoePa did the right thing by notifying his boss never witness a child being hurt, because I would want you calling the police, not your boss.
