Of course Racism Sells, all things negative sell. Kaeps little speech after the workout was enough for me to change how I felt about this whole thing.
Didn’t take questions either.

If he really wanted in he would adhere to the the standards of the job he is applying for. Kaep is DONE!!!!!

You'd at least have to admit that the NFL workout was anything but standard. It appears to be a joke publicity stunt by the league, as the OP pointed out.

I just read a transcript of Kaepernick's statement, so maybe I'm missing things he communicated through body language, but the latter part reads like he wants to be brought in for a normal interview like any other player (i.e., a team calls his agent and sets up a meeting and workout for a Tuesday).

Was it non standard because Kap didnt want to do it like everyone else? Or would the league not allow him to try out like everyone else?
I am guessing teams did not what his extra baggage and were not offering tryouts. So to appease him and make him feel special they setup this joke of a tryout.

One interesting thing was he already had this alternate location setup. He never intended on trying out for the 32 teams. It seems he just wanted that extra publicity.

So the NFL sets up a special workout no other player to my knowledge has ever had, they set it up an NFL stadium, invite all interested teams and it's still sub-standard?

Kaeps comments about stop running etc to me was him once again playing his race card and trying to make a political point in yet another NFL sponsored venue. If he to damn stubborn or stupid to learn from his mistakes that's on him.

The teams that attended were unimpressed he had he shot. Let's hope his political activist career can take off.

it became a joke when an hour before the workout at the Falcons training facility the NFL allowed him to force the move across town and at a high school field. why do you think 2/3rd's of the NFL teams reported to have been present at the designated site refused to move? he was an applicant for a job and seemed to think he had all the say which showed them he is only interested in continuing his political agenda

Stephen a smith said he knew about the waiver several days in advance. I have to believe him. If he knew he wasn’t going to sign the waiver several days in advance, why did he wait until hours before to reject it?

The waiver is pretty standard stuff per my understanding.

I've heard things broke down between the NFL and Kaep when he insisted that his camera crew film the session...I think Nike may have been using some of this footing in a commercial. The NFL refused to allow his cameras in...siting intellectual property I assume, but they would give him a copy...unedited...which he didn't believe.

Regardless of the waiver, Kaep's people had made up their mind about the alternative venue long before they informed the NFL...I'm guessing they planned the venue change at least by Wed or Thurs to get clearance to the facility, security, even fans wearing Kaep themed t-shirts. (another reason I think Nike may use some of the footage).

so...why was the NFL informed of the venue change on the day of the workout, and only a couple of hours prior to it starting?

Weird deal on both sides.

If he was good enough he'd be on a roster. Period.

"Tell your owners to stop being scared." I got to remember that for my next job interview.

teams hold tryouts all the time at their facilities and at their designated time. and in extraordinary situations multiple teams may decide to hold a tryout for a certain player or players. in this case it was decided by multiple teams (supposedly up to 25 of the 32 teams) to hold the tryout at a specific location the Falcons training facility in spite of his extra baggage. since when does a person get to choose the tryout site?

once the offer was made and a date and site were set. Kap and his "agent" attempted to turn it into a political stunt. that's why 2/3rd's of the teams that had representatives at the Falcon training facility recalled their people and skipped the "tryout".

Another possibility is that the NFL and the owners are just spiteful at this point, and that there really isn't a concern about backlash and the media circus, as they've dealt with that with other players already. This Saturday workout looks like a sham, but Kaepernick basically has no choice but to go through with it if he really wants any chance at getting back in the NFL.

Anyway, I don't really feel bad for Kaepernick, as I said earlier in this thread even though I think he is being unfairly excluded from the NFL (he actually didn't violate any workplace rule, as the NFL still doesn't have a rule that a player must stand for the anthem, and others who kneeled and others who commited crimes are employed). Kaepernick seems to have a pretty good life. He probably has millions of dollars. His parents seem to be really solid people. A lot of people hate him, but a lot of people like him as well. And he has a beautiful lady.

All fair, but the bottom line is, if he was good enough and didn't have baggage, he'd be playing.
The end/

Also, his girl is a fanatical racist, so I don't see the beauty in her. But to each their own.

I didn't say it was sub-standard. It was not normal, and one can fairly question whether it was genuine. Bottom line is that if a team really wanted him, they'd call his agent directly and set up a workout. I don't think anything magically changed last Tuesday. All teams have pretty much made the business decision long ago that Kaep isn't worth it.

He's way better than Brian fucking Hoyer.....Chad Henne and others.

You misunderstood...

If he was good enough to start, he'd be on a roster. And with how much of a distraction his off the field shenanigans cause, not only does he have to be a starter, but he would at least need to play at a pro bowl level.

Agreed.

I will add this, I think Kaep is racist.

Not standard because this isn't the standard way an NFL team would evaluate a player. It's been repeated enough on this thread what the standard process is. The evidence from the past 3 years is that no team wants him. Why did the NFL even put this together and why on 4 days notice?

Who aren't headcases that coaches have to deal with. It's not all about talent, it also includes how you feel a player will effect team chemistry. Kaep made his decision to be a political activist now he has to live with that.

That's exactly our no team wants him. He is not worth the trouble. He wanted another PR stunt and the NFL obliged to shut him up for just 30 seconds.

I read that it was the NFL's idea, but who in the public really knows?
