Watched Eli yesterday, not a bad horror movie about a young boy with immune issues, so lives in a bubble. His parents take him to a special house that can treat him and he believes it is haunted. Really enjoying the Evil series and the movie Haunt was good for this time of year. Another one I watched last year that I enjoyed was Boys in Trees, another good one for Halloween, starts of really slow but then gets good . I'm with the others about 3 from hell, so so, should have stopped at Devil's Rejects

I liked Haunt as well. Haven't seen Eli but heard it was pretty good

Watched a really good movie yesterday...had some nice jump scares and overall I was impressed. Haven't jumped like that from a movie in a long time tbh. Didn't have high expectations coming into it so it blew me away.

Decent movie if you turn your brain off.

Unreal. My guess is its primarily a gimmick that is using social media to fuel the fear. The waiver is just a scare tactic.

Going to have to watch the Dark Tourist episode to see what he uncovers, or if they allow him to.

Watched the movie, Wounds, and gotta say that was one of the strangest movies I have ever watched and the ending was weird too. Weird shit. Didn't particularly like it at all but I had to watch the entire thing.

Incident In A Ghostland (2018)


This movie caught my eye when I saw it was directed by Pascal Laugier (Martyrs), but I was disappointed with it. I found too many flaws and most of the shock value was meaningless & felt artificial as a result. Its not the warped nature of it (even though it was a little over the top), but rather the sequence of events coupled with character stupidity that felt too forced. The plotline is a bit of a mess which was a repercussion from the intentional withholding of info & shifts in the timeline to keep it from being too predictable. But in all honesty it felt like much ado over nothing. The main twists were noteworthy, but the suspense was lackluster. There were a half-dozen jump scares that didn't land very well, if at all.

Overall this film had some decent horror elements that made it an entertaining story if you turn off your brain & roll with it, but the overall experience was fairly forgettable. In typical Laugier fashion it dared to be different, which I can applaud. The psychological elements intrigued me. The line between reality & imagination was very thin. Still can't help but feel like this movie was a tad underdeveloped. The cast delivers solid performances and all the make-up effects were good.

Yeah it's funny you say this "the shock value was meaningless & felt artificial as a result" bc during the movie there were a couple jump scares that scared the shit out of me but I got mad and said to my wife, "why the fuck did they have to do a jump scare when nothing happened. That shit pisses me off!" LOL...but overall it had been a long time since I saw a movie actually had me glued to the tv just bc you didn't know what was going to happen, even if it was for a stupid reason.

Already done. The guy that does the show made it seem like it was priming for the scare. The websites videos are gnarly and look like straight up torture. But the Dark Tourist show didn't seem that bad, granted, it doesn't show much and the host of the show is a crazy whimp.

But I am very intrigued by this. Seems like a toughness test, to see if you can or how long you can withstand some torture. So... I'm interested.
