Why all the talk of 2 SEC teams in the playoff but none on 2 Big 10 teams?

In the same post you just discounted games from 5 years ago while stating a game played this year could keep a conference out for 10 years. Your spin game is on point

I said a potential pair of games...which aren't even going to happen played this year could keep a team out for 10 years...or at least be a factor in committee voting.

OU maybe, Oregon isn't getting in unless the 2nd SEC team drops a second game.

Nah, committee will put a 1-loss conference champ in over a 1-loss also ran. SEC only has 1 member on the committee.

Well, unlike say WVU, they've actually been competitive in some of the games they have played against better teams.

Competitive? Garbage time TD’s to make the score more respectable doesn’t make the game competitive.

An I have no illusions WVU is good this year. I’m just not dumb enough to act like A&M is some juggernaut just becUse my teM played them.

I guess since Bama got blown out last year, they should be banned from the playoffs for 5 years, right?

If Bama loses to LSU they probably don’t make the playoff.

You are not young enough to ever reach an age where Alabama is ever considered an also-ran...certainly not compared to a 1-loss Pac-12 champ...

That will just mean that it will be a best loss season so they would beat every other one loss team, thus, they are in the playoffs.

I remember when they lost to Louisiana Monroe.

IF Bama loses to LSU and LSU wins the SEC there’s no way Bama gets in over another 1 loss conference champ. If they do the whole thing is illegitimate. They would have had their chance. At that point we would already know Bama is not better than LSU but we don’t know if LSU is better than 1 loss conference champ Oregon or Oklahoma ON THE FIELD.

It will be interesting to see the early rankings as you can sometimes tell the committees intentions for the end of the season by where they rank teams early.

Its almost a guarantee that LSU and OSU will be 1 and 2. Personally i think Clemson being 5 is almost a lock as well ( sends the bad schedule is bad message and is really meaningless as Clemson is in if they win out anyway). PSU and Bama should be 3/4 in some order but where it gets interesting is 6-9. Florida, Georgia winner will almost assuredly be 6 but is Oregon ahead of Oklahoma? Does a 2 loss Auburn stay in the top 10? Does the committee rank Minnesota, Baylor or Utah that high? All those things play into Oregon/Oklahoma/PSU being able to add really quality potential victories to their schedules. Does the committee rank A&M at 6-3 as an attempt to justify where they rank Clemson and Bama? Etc etc

To be honest there’s quite a few teams that would run the table playing Clemson’s schedule. I could see a very legitimate debate for a few 1 loss teams. Getting in over an undefeated Clemson who’s playing a UCF level schedule.

What if I told you Clemson's SOS is greater than Bama's at this point of the season

If you lose to LSU that reality will be staring you in the face much sooner than you can imagine.

Only possible if PSU beats Ohio State. Alabama and LSU would beat PSU by 30

I don't see that happening. Penn St. has a better defense than Alabama or LSU, even if the Tide (with Tua) and Tigers both have better offenses. Under normal circumstances, I don't think the Nittany Lions beat either of those two teams, but they would make it much closer than 30 points.
