Why all the talk of 2 SEC teams in the playoff but none on 2 Big 10 teams?

Yeah I don’t understand all the crying about Alabama’s schedule. It will all play out and if we are a fraud someone will beat us.

Well of course! Haha.

Is it really that hard for you to grasp why anyone would question your team's current ranking when only two teams you've played this year, have a winning record and one of those teams, So. Miss., is a Conference USA team?

After 8 weeks of football, Bama's biggest win to date is beating a 3 loss aTm team.

Bama may be the best team in the nation right now.....but they haven't done anything that warrants the love they have received in the current polls.

Sorry, but them is the facts, Jack!

How about you read the title of the thread and comprehend it. OP is asking why the B10 isn’t getting talked about as having two teams in the playoff. Especially considering the resume by both these B10 teams RIGHT NOW is better than the resume of Alabama.

It's so easy to see. Its a good question too.

When for no reason you are ranked number 1....you can lose a game, drop 4 spots and still make the playoffs.

Seems fair....

Just stop with that. 3 losses and counting. Alabama would probably beat Texas, and LSU would probably beat Duke.

Derpsa derpa derpa....

How about we let them play the games instead of guessing who will win?

Let's judge them on the games they actually play and not some bullshit make believe match ups OK!

Sounds like a noble idea....

When the CFP rankings come out it is entirely likely there will be 2 B10 and 2 SEC teams in the top 4. OSU and PSU noth have better current resumes than Bama with LSU having the best resume .

Assuming Clemson wins out we could see a league get 2 bids especially if Oregon and OU lose again. Why would the SEC be the league to get 2 especially if LSU beats Bama? Or are most people assuming Bama wins that game?
50/50 we have 2 SEC teams and 2 B1G teams in. If Clemson drops one then it’s practically guaranteed.

He doesn’t believe Alabam will lose to LSU. I’m urging him to consider it.

Goes both ways. I get to see Texas up close and personal on 11/16! Shaking in my boots about the Top 10 Longhorns with their incredible record of (5-3) coming to town. Seriously, just saying that Texas is obviously not playing at the level that so many like to pretend. There are only a handful of teams that are playing at LSU or Alabama's level, and Texas (this year) is not one of them. So, none of the fluff games or semi-hard games on either teams schedule really matters. Looking forward to a great game on 11/9. If LSU wins, they will get their due - especially from me!

Well he has good reason to think that. He may be right too.

But that doesn't excuse the unwarranted love Bama has received this year in the AP poll.

That’s exactly why I think it’s absurd he hasn’t considered bama losing to LSU. Not saying it will definitely happen but bama has played nobody yet.

And Bama would beat ULM in 2007 by 30, or Bama would beat Louisiana Tech by 30 in 93. Saying it would happen does not make it so. Bama has proved that just like the Buckeyes did vs Iowa and Purdue.

FTR, Bama beat La Tech by 53 in 93.

I'd be surprised if Clemsom is top 4 even without a loss. Early the committee tends to stick more with resume than anything

Alabama is likely unbeaten versus both schedules as would PSU and OSU be versus Bamas. Not really the point though. No one ch us saying any of those teams stink . The fact remains Penn St and Ohio St both have at least 2 wins vs teams who will be ranked next week in the CFP poll. Bama has none. You gave no argument on a resume front so you're left arguing eye test, eye test vs average to bad teams.

Again, why is Iowa ranked again?

But they ARE getting talked about having 2 teams in the CFP, both on ESPN and Fox. And the same commentators are saying Bama should NOT be in if they lose to LSU.

I get the critique on Bama’s schedule. What I don’t get is the “no respect” complaint when the B1G is getting plenty of it.

Does it really matter? Clemson is in if they win out, and is anyone on their schedule likely to stay within 2 TDs let alone beat them?

All they have to do is patiently wait for unbeatens to be eliminated over the next few weeks.

Well, when LSU has won 5 of the last 10 national titles, maybe someone will care what LSU fans feel about being slighted in the rankings.

Number 9 is going to be extra sweet.

Because that's what the number in front of their team name indicates?

Well, it obviously isn't for anything you've done on the field.

Too political an undefeated P5 won’t be left out.

My guess is no bad losses, a fringe top 25 win. They have to rank 25 teams so 6-2 in a P5 with those results will almost always be ranked
