How long does Philly stick with Wentz before going back to Foles?

Not true. I clearly said the military is not for everyone. I also said you were not wrong that a student loan is good for some. I got sucked into this fray because I would not allow PE1 to say that going into the military for a jump start to career is bad, etc. etc, etc, etc,. Now YOU are defending student loans and I'm defending no student loans.

But I'm the one arguing in a way that you are - accusing me of arguing like PE1?
Check that! We are both arguing the opposite stance of each other and both of us are saying that either choice is sometimes ok!!!!! So WTF is your beef with me?
I'm not arguing at all on the topic. Your articles seem to all be pointed as student loan debt being this horrible thing which I disagree with in many if not most cases. If that isn't what you are saying I apologize, it is hard to infer what some are saying sometimes

Decided to put this back on this thread instead of destroying the other thread where PE1 was talking Foles & Wentz (again)

Nick Foles
26-18 with 10 game winning drives
(in just philly 21-11 with 9 game winning drives)
Carson Wentz
23-17 with 4 game winning drives

All regular season stats to be fair since Wentz has never experienced playing a playoff game.
but Foles playoff record is 4-2 with 2 more game winning drives (both in Philly)

So pretty much. If you are calling Foles Pedestrian. Realistically what does that make Wentz?

So while you got this going again.
I often hear Dak is winning because OL & running game.
Well on another thread I am pretty sure you were admitting the eagles having the better OL (atleast the last couple years)
So lets just scratch the OL argument off unless you are going to say Wentz only wins because of the OL as well.
Then I look back at Wentz' one glorious year (2017)
His wins the teams rushing was
107, 193, 214, 122, 101, 127, 112, 197, 215, 176 (1564 in 10 games) (156.4 yds a game)

his losses
58 (opening day) & 98. (156 yds in 2 games) (78 yds a game)
For Wentz' season, which is more like a college season in recent years
136.83 yds a game. That avg would be just under 2200 yds rushing in a full season.

So again unless you want to say Wentz only wins because of his running game, lets scratch that off the BS reasons as well.
Because that is a pretty impressive stat sheet on rushing.
So yes. he has the potential. Which is probably why he was drafted 2nd overall.

But under PE1 ways of reasoning. (if he wasnt an eagle golden boy) He is a pedestrian QB that only wins because of his OL & Running game :becky:

IMO it says a LOT when a player won’t bet on himself. Cousins passed up several large, multiyear guaranteed contracts to play on the franchise tag. He in essence gambled on himself. Contrastly, Wentz sold himself short because he wasn’t willing to gamble on himself. That tells me a lot. We are gonna see if Wentz goes back to the scrambling QB that was successful that one season or if he plays more like he did last year where he was less effective.

I disagree with debt of any kind. That said, student debt at least aims for being productive.
Mortgages are much the same but like student loans, they may be the only way to own a house, like student loans may be one of the only ways for a college education as a professional. Students looking for a professional major are not the ones overwhelmed by debt as their career will pay the debt.

Now if you want a degree as in philosophy or sports administration, how are you going to pay that debt?
If I wanted to be a doctor and my family could not afford to pay for medical school, I'd take the loan OR join the military, where doctors are needed and granted a lot of benefits.

Our children who want to excel and succeed should do as they plan and not quit!

IMO, this video sums up the discussions on this board about this subject. Philly fans “drink the koolaid” while the rest of the league is more skeptical. Something has gotta give this year.

Some dopey Eagles fan on here the other day tried to say this was only because Philly is always ahead in the 4th Qtr. The lengths they will go to protect Wentz and try to defend any possible slight to his reputation it is comical
the flaw in this thought would be. Then Wentz would have a lot more wins than Dak if this were true LOL

Hey @PhoenixEagles1 a simple yes or no question.

With the way you think of Wentz after about a 10 game stretch. You considered him Phenomenal.

So my question is
Is Matt Ryan Phenomenal?

Yes or No?

Tough one. Some times he can be great and sometimes no. Id definitely be happy with him as my teams QB. I see what you are trying to trap me into. I think Wentz can have a better career then Ryan but he has to stop getting hurt year after year after year.

so not a yes or a no.

Well if you said no. Then you are correct. it would have trapped you with your wentz view.
However if you said yes.
Then you would have stayed consistent & would have made more sense to why you say it about Wentz.
Since you couldnt say either.
It just shows your onesidedness when it comes to your golden boy.
Which ruins your credibility when you point out your stats or what not.

So your only good answer would be yes. Then atleast that would have proven you think that way of someone not named Wentz. (Ryans stats were way better & has a MVP)
but you couldnt.

I guess another proper answer for you would have been. No. & you see the point made & admitted Wentz isnt Phenomenal yet.
but you could never do that either.

But kudos to you. I honestly figured you would just ignore the question.

Remember Tyson knocked out Mitch Blood Green on the streets on NY. Tyson was in Dapper Dans and came out and knocked that fool out. The Tyson days were pretty freaking entertaining. Dapper Dan was a legend.
Everyone talks about how Tyson was growing up, but Green was just a thug gang banger from Harlem even after he grew up. Glad Tyson beat his ass.

Im really sorry that I think Wentz is a big time player. I knew we had something very special year one. THen year came along and he had a MVP like 13 games, not 10. Then last year I made a bunch of posts that he wont be as good because of the injury and he still was really good at times and not as effective at others. Then we have games like vs Carolina up 17-0 with less then a quarter to go and Carolina promptly marches down the field 3 straight times and wins and I come on here and everyone is ripping Wentz for the loss. I think hes gonna be a star in this league for a long time if he overcomes injury. I think he will be better then Ryan. I doubt he reaches Brady, Rodgers or Brees level but the kid is dynamite. He just is.

No he isn’t. He doesn’t have the “it” factor
Or I combine the two of you ingenious posts & come to the conclusion He has the Stafford factor (minus the toughness)
