I like that we save money here so we can pay our own players that are RFAs.It seems like a cap trade that leaves us a bit more money
Until he scores 40 goals in Dallas lol.I like this trade as they are pretty much the same player with less offense by Pitlik but we both were hearing 2.5 for Hartman and i didn't want to see us pay him that much. Plus we get the extra million to pay our own players
Hitting the pipe early today. Hartman's high (pun intended) point mark is 31.Until he scores 40 goals in Dallas lol.
I agree i am in favor of this trade for money reasons but i do like his size.Hartman had 1 good year
2016 - 17 Gps - 76 G - 19 A - 12 - 31 total points
2017 - 18 Gps - 78 G - 11 A - 20 - 31 total points
2018 - 19 GPS - 83 G- 12 A - 14 - 26 total points
Piltnik
2017 - 18 Gps - 80 G - 14 A -13 - 27 total points
2018 - 19 Gps - 47 G - 8 A - 4 - 12 total pts Projects 14 goals, 7 assists - 21 total points
I still don't see how Hartman projected to $2.5 million. Not a real drop off to Piltnik and he is only $1 million and can PK, he is also 6-2, 202 lbs and like to throw the body around. I am not upset with this move at all.

Meant more in jest, usually players we trade go on to be successful elsewhere.Hitting the pipe early today. Hartman's high (pun intended) point mark is 31.
Cmon it was a lucky guess lol.
Shoot Gritty may be one of our defensive pairings this year. Not a big fan of gritty but this is pretty cool.

This is interesting i never even considered this. Yes for me thats alarming especially if it continues but if we win a have deep playoff runs it will fade away fast. Winning cures all.One thing they mentioned during the draft that I just kind of brushed off, Fletcher drafted 3 guys with Minnesota ties this season. And had a history of doing so when he was with the Wild.
York - Shattuck St. Marys
Brink - Minnetonka, MN
Brodzinski - Mr. Hockey at the Minnesota High School level this year
Then I read that Pitlick is from Minnesota, same town 'sort of' as Braun. Niskanen, also born in Minnesota and went to Minnesota-Duluth.
So he's brought in 11 hockey players, 6 of them are from or have strong ties to Minnesota. Like I said, I brushed it off at the draft, Minnesota creates a lot of hockey players. But that's kind of an alarming number in just a few months. Anyone else concerned about a bit of a blind spot?

"It also does not make sense that Subban got two seconds and a pair of who-cares defenders who won’t make much of a difference for the Preds in the near future when the Flyers gave up a second and a third for Justin Braun (11th-worst WAR among big-minute defenders since 2016-17). Even with the different cap situations accounted for."

Every one of Brauns teamates loved him
Subban not so much
