Only if KD accepts. I hope he does and so does Lacob
Gee I wonder if any of us have been saying this
common sense.Right...but the idea is it would be tough for a team to even have 4 max level players, let alone pay them. If Lacob feels like he wants to keep the team together for one more run who's to say he can't/wont?
i think they will absolutely offer that to those guys to which would mean Draymond is GONZO next year once he is up for a large raise to a max or near max. Thats what I have been saying the entire time. Its impossible to carry 4 max contracts.
I have been saying it too. I always believed they would offer both Klay and Durant maxes and I think that absolutely means Dray is out the door next year because carrying 4 maxes is untenable- especially while in the repeater.Gee I wonder if any of us have been saying this
Many of us have been, I was just teasing all the geniuses who were saying otherwise for reasons that make no senseI have been saying it too. I always believed they would offer both Klay and Durant maxes and I think that absolutely means Dray is out the door next year because carrying 4 maxes is untenable- especially while in the repeater.
we also dont know 1. how much of the team Lacob actually owns, 2. how much revenue sharing the Warriors have to pay- itll probably be at least 40M right off the top. 3. what the tax implications - the US and California tax (not luxury tax) implications, and 4. any debt service on what he paid for the team, what he paid for the stadium (if he did at all- i dont know if he was entirely taxpayer paid- or like the Giants baseball stadium- born entirely by the ownership group- likely a combo of both), what expenses are for operations in one of the most expensive cities in the world. No disagreement, but we don't know what Lacob thinks, what he expects to make next year in revenue, etc.
Half a decade ago would you have thought over a 3 year period Gilbert (or any owner) would spend as much in tax as the entire league COMBINED?
You are too hung up on this, give it a rest. It is both very very very unlikely and also NOT impossible for them to pay that much tax. That's all. Relaxwe also dont know 1. how much of the team Lacob actually owns, 2. how much revenue sharing the Warriors have to pay- itll probably be at least 40M right off the top. 3. what the tax implications - the US and California tax (not luxury tax) implications, and 4. any debt service on what he paid for the team, what he paid for the stadium (if he did at all- i dont know if he was entirely taxpayer paid- or like the Giants baseball stadium- born entirely by the ownership group- likely a combo of both), what expenses are for operations in one of the most expensive cities in the world.
Over a 3 year time period the money spent on salaries alone would be well over a billion dollars. Probably about 1.2 billion.
Why you guys think that is even in the realm of reasonable possibility is beyond me when nothing even close to it has ever been done before in the history of the league and is so far outside of anything that we have seen before that its ridiculous. ESPECIALLY because, comparatively, Dan Gilbert could buy and sell Joe Lacob nearly 3 times over. (DG's net worth is about 7.5B estiamted, Lacob is at 3B)--- Prokohrov- the Nets guy who paid one of the highest luxury tax bills in history is worth close to 10B.
You are too hung up on this, give it a rest. It is both very very very unlikely and also NOT impossible for them to pay that much tax. That's all. Relax
Probably moot anyway especially if KD leaves.
its very unlikely I win the powerball. the chances are about the same. to quote Lloyd Christmas "so your telling me there' a chance!"You are too hung up on this, give it a rest. It is both very very very unlikely and also NOT impossible for them to pay that much tax. That's all. Relax

Whatever dudeits very unlikely I win the powerball. the chances are about the same. to quote Lloyd Christmas "so your telling me there' a chance!"
It's only a Wiggy fail if they keep all 4 for more than one year. Even I don't think they would. But I'd love to be wrongDefinitely unlikely.
But damn I Really hope it happens.
This has the makings of the next epic Wiggy fail.
Not using common sense making statements about a billionaire's finances.....a guy you have never met, spoken to and of course have no clue was his expected earnings are next few years.common sense.
also been saying they wont, but not naive enough to think I know what Lacob wants to do.I have been saying it too. I always believed they would offer both Klay and Durant maxes and I think that absolutely means Dray is out the door next year because carrying 4 maxes is untenable- especially while in the repeater.
You have no idea what you are talking about stop acting like you do. Gilbert went over the tax for 4 years...if you think if Lebron stays they are spending. You are just a fucking idiot if you think that...well you have proved to be one so I will go with that.
Definitely unlikely.
But damn I Really hope it happens.

You act like they won't have saved exceptions of their own, nor they'll be buying any coming with the contracts they are to sign in the future...
Like the Cavs are now doing, GSW will on purpose stay just under the lux tax for the following two seasons... Then they'll be buying players that carry cap holds and only watch the series they resign contracts for the third season.
For instance... do expect the Bucks to resign Brogdon first out of their free agents (because he has the smaller cap hold) and Mirotic last....
