Been wanting to upgrade and been looking at Taylor Made M4 or M5. Ive got a Titliest from 2010 I believe so I think I can get some more distance.

Seems like the newer drivers are a bit lighter than the one I’m hitting. And I like my current big dog I can hit it 280-300 and it’s not like I’m playing a lot of competitive golf, just want an upgrade.

I have the M3. Choosing between the M4 and M5 is kind of odd as the M3 was last year's top model (M4 was the secondary model that year) and the M5 is the top model this year.

Doesn’t seem like a big difference. Looks like one you can adjust one more than the other.

And M4 is $300 right now and the M3 is $350. M5 is pricey for what looks like almost identical drivers

But to choose between the top model this year and the second best model last year? Why are the best model from last year and the second best model from this year out of the running? It just seems odd to me to only consider the most advanced/expensive and the least advanced/expensive out of the group of four and ignore the middle options.

I'm trying to help you understand what these clubs are before you buy (as you asked for a little advice) but go ahead and throw another facepalm post if you want. The M5 is the new version of the M3. The M6 is the new version of the M4. You are trying to decide between the high adjustable 2019 driver and the low adjustable 2018 driver. The fact that the M4 and M5 are sequential in number is misleading.

Lol I know what you are saying. I’m saying the difference between the M3 and M5 are hardly anything but a newer version. Same with M4 and M6 just Mostly gimmicks.

If you think one of these drivers is a lot different than the other I’ve got some land in FL to sell you.

Then why are you even considering the most expensive one? If you think they are all essentially the same and want more adjustments then get the m3. If not, get the m4.

This is how close they are on tour last year and overall Taylor made is dominating. Brooks and Rose hit the M3. DJ and Molinari hit the M4. I’m sure there were others

I think you hit all and see what you like. I’m hitting the M4 M3 and M5 today at my club. They all would be an upgrade from my current driver. Price is king but I’m going to go with either the M4 or M3 most likely. These tour pros just get the new versions every year but these drivers are super crazy similar at this point and Taylor made makes slight adjustments but the flex face is the big upgrade from what I’m learning

Taylor Made dominating the tour it seems

DJ at St Jude’s in June 2018

Winner's Bag: Dustin Johnson, 2018 FedEx St. Jude Classic

TM is dominating the tour because they are still cutting the bigger checks!

That said, it would take more than $ to get Tiger & Rory in the fold as they both have plenty of coin already.

I play the Titleist 917D3 9.5 deg...I'm a 240-260 driver on average...I'm the short knocker in my group by a little bit, but normally can keep that 917 on the course. I've given thought to the longer Callaway and TM drivers, (they were longer in the hitting bay at PGA Superstore anyway) but for now I'm staying with this driver through this year at least.

Oh I don’t need to adjust it. Maybe the loft but I’m an old school “leave it on standard” setting... maybe Deloft a bit

Yeah but these players are not going to hit a driver they don’t like either. Tiger doesn’t need a couple extra million from TM, he wants majors

I am not going to spend $400 on a new driver

I bought a Callaway SR16 a few years ago that I like. I hit it straighter than I did my Taylormade R1.

I hate all the gimmicks TM comes out with. I am trying to stay away from them.
