I voted yes, but it's a pretty specific request. I want them to sign Hayes and trade the 1st + for Trouba. The plus is the question mark, I would love for it not to be Ghost, but if the Flyers get Trouba, I expect Ghost goes the other way. Probably wouldn't need a 1st in that case though..
I wouldn't mind trading to get Trouba but is he that much better than Ghost where as we would have to throw in a high first round pick

Ya, that's the question. A 1st and Ghost seems like an overpay for Trouba to me too.

Ghost, 26, 5-11, 180, LH (4x4.5M left)
64gp, 36pts (.56ppg), 8
76gp, 39pts (.51ppg), -21
76gp, 65pts (.86ppg), 10
78gp, 37pts (.47ppg), -20

Trouba, 25, 6-3, 202, RH (RFA, Evolving Wild project, 5x7.3M)
81gp, 21pts (.26ppg), +10
60gp, 33pts (.55ppg), +4
55gp, 24pt (.44ppg), +9
82gp, 50pts (.61ppg), +8

So you're getting better offense and contract with Ghost. Getting better defense, size, and RH from Trouba. To me, Ghost/Trouba seems to make a lot of sense for both sides as nearly a straight up deal. Trouba is probably the better dman, but you're getting Ghost for nearly half the price and Winnipeg is in tight with the cap.

One thing to note, which would sway things to the Winnipeg side. Trouba is producing at that level with significantly less PP time than Ghost. This season Ghost had over 1:00 more per game. Byfuglien anchors the Jets top PP. Ghost's biggest asset is his PP play, which the Jets don't really need due to Byfuglien.

So Ghost may not be that great of a fit in Winnipeg. That's where the 1st round pick comes in. Is there something that would interesting them, combined with that 1st rounder? They probably want a dman to replace Trouba, but the Flyers probably aren't dealing Provorov, Sanheim, or Myers based on the way the press conferences have been going. So does a 1st + (Hagg, Morin, AMac, or Gudas) get it done? If not, what more needs to be added?

The number 11 pick plus Hagg and one of our good young goalies like Sandstrom

@awaz.. Alex Morgan with five goals today as the USA women's soccer team thrashed Thailand 13-0.
Anyway, I cannot imagine it would cost Philly the 11th overall pick and Ghost to get Trouba.

Ya, I stopped following after 4 goals in 6 minutes to start the 2nd half haha. That's crazy.

Also, I'm thinking about this on the way in this morning, listening to BSH Radio (fun podcast if anyone is interested)..

What if the Flyers sign Hayes, trade for Trouba (w/out giving up Ghost, Farabee, or Frost), and then sign a 3rd line wing (Hagelin/Donskoi/etc)?

Giroux-Couturier-Konecny (2x2.3)
JvR-Hayes (6x6.5) -Voracek
Lindblom-Patrick-Hagelin (3x2.4)
Raffl-Laughton (2x1.7)-Hartman (2x2.5)

Provorov (6x6.7)-Trouba (5x7.3)
Sanheim (2x2.9)-Myers
Ghost-Gudas

Hart
Talbot (2x2)

That team is the definition of depth. And using EW's projections (inflated Hayes some based on Nelson's deal), carrying Hagg, AMac, Vorobyev, and $1M after demoting Schlemko, you're at $82.8M. That's probably tighter than they want to go, assuming the cap is $83M. And I'm guessing they don't want to bridge both Sanheim and Konency. But there's some wiggle room. You can still save $3.8M this year (by spending $1.9M next year), if you buy out AMac. Maybe I'm generous on Talbot too. And maybe you skip the Hagelin deal.

But man, on paper that team looks really good IMO.

I was in Atlantic city over the weekend and they have sports gambling now and i saw the spread for the US women was 4.5 and i said to myself that seems like a lot of goals to give in soccer so i didn't bet it. :gaah:
