Not here to talk smack just curious where you guys feel you matchup as in contender? I know you gotta play the schedule your given but when I look at the teams you've beaten its not impressive. I work with Bengals homers who are saying the division is as good as wrapped up. But I am waiting til I see some wins vs contenders first. Agree ir disagree? I do see them headed in right direction tho.

The division is not locked up, the Ravens are better than us right now, the Steelers have had some tough games, but they seem to have figured things out.

bengals.com forum is full of homers like that. most of us stay away from there.

Although we should have plenty of cautious optimism as we should have about this team right now, anyone who says we have the division locked up must be sniffing paint thinner

You are either lying or you work with retards..... I haven't heard one single Bengal fan suggest that we have the division locked up. Most would put the Ravens ahead by a wide margin and the idea of a wild-card as a low probability.

As for the future..... Looking better than it did 4 months ago.

Na man I got no reason to lie they are just serious homers. And I do think Bengals are definitely headed in right direction. Pretty solid drafts last 2years

Bengals are a middle of the pack team right now and moving in the right direction. Bengals were the first team to beat the Bills who had a 10 game winning streak coming into Cincy. Also the 49ner's who are 5-1 only beat the Bengals by 5 points. No, those are not too impressive but a team with a rookie QB that is playing far better than anyone expected and a team with a defense playing in top five form can be dangerous. With the Bengals schedule pretty soft but a couple of games with the Steelers and Ravens. The Bengals can make some noise if they win a couple of those games.

I do find it funny so many people love to bring up "The Bengals have not beaten anybody." It is hard to win any game in the NFL regardless of a teams record. Ask any player they will tell you that only fans or reporters say stupid phrases like that.

FUCK EM! 1st it was Cincy wont win 3 games or may go 0-16 now instead of giving us props and saying they were wrong they now say "Bengals havent beaten anybody" Keep bleedin like the WRONG bitches you are.....

So Beating the Bills and 9ers are not beating anyone????? interesting....Yea Bmore and Pitt will be tough and I dont think we will win any of them...but if they do its a testament to the new TEAM motto being communicated by players..

I know Jwill. Just get sick of people with the same crap. "Win a playoff game" "Make it to the playoffs." "Win the division" BS never stops. Just glad we aren't Miami. It is fun to watch the Jets implode. Their defense isn't what it was the last 2 years.

I knew questions like this would come up when Palmer left. OP: Mercy of the schedule or not, the team's stats over the past few years show them able contenders against the teams coming up on their schedule.

People tend to look at the Bengals and their history is all they see. We've had some really solid drafts recently, and this year made some excellent FA signings, led by Howard.

Sure before the season started with all the changes and all the drama, they expected the Bengals to suck. But who wouldn't? Rookie QB, rookie WR, rookie OC who had little pro experience, combined with a very shortened offseason, lost one of our best defensive players, Carson's drama, etc. Can we blame them? Heck, I was one of them.

But everyone (or a select few) here seems to have selective memories. Every analyst I've seen has since raved about Dalton. They've raved about the defense. They've given the Bengals a lot of credit for their drafts (and did so yesterday as well). The last 2 seasons the experts have given us great grades on the draft ON draft day.

I'm not sure what more you guys expect? Should they come on this board to eat crow? Write an article talking about how wrong they were? Seriously?!?

The last three games represent a change in the recent culture.....

1) Beat Buffalo, previously unbeaten, and reversed a ten year losing streak dating all the way back to the AFC Championship game of 1989

2) Won at Jacksonville reversing a seven game losing streak on the road to them

3) Beat Indy, breaking a seven game losing streak to them dating back to Peyton Manning's rookie season

True, other than Buffalo, none of these teams were impressing anyone, but still, any team that can vanquish demons three weeks in a row has to be on the right track.

This isn't NCAA football. There is no BCS. It doesn't matter who you beat. You just play the schedule given to you.

You are missing the point.....any team that continues to reverse negative trends is doing something right......it bodes well for the future.....
