Never heard of him, is he a QB?

Cowboys have been looking for their franchise QB for over two decades now
The Eagles don't have to look for their Franchise QB, he'll be where he always is, holding a clipboard and going to rehab

Cobb did have Rodgers in Green Bay, but what neither if them had was Zeke. Not a lot of 8 man front looks against the Packers. With Zeke drawing attention and Cooper on the outside, Cobb will be facing straight man coverage or zone coverage. If he's healthy, 800+

That's a good point. In Cobb's pro bowl year, Green Bay had a solid running game with Lacy. Of course, Rodgers had an MVP season too which helps. Nelson and Cobb were a great 1-2 punch that year.
Dak obviously isn't A.R. but I think he made some progress last season once Cooper got there. It will be interesting to see if he can find that chemistry with Cobb. I still think Garrett holds Dak back as much as anything else.

there was a moment in time. I thought Cobb was all that & a bag of chips. But then the NFL changed the tackling rules & some guy went low & wiped out his leg. he has never been that player again. while he still has some skills he is not the player people want to remember from back then. His worth to us will be in the slot position. Wouldnt be surprised if he ended up dropping to the #4 spot if Hurns or someone else develops. #3 is the highest he will be in our depth chart however.
Cooper & Gallup will be #1 & #2 unless one of them falls on their faces.

Cobb absolutely could be the 2 over Gallup

From what I have seen, Gallup can get open. Wide open for big plays. Dak doesn't seem to get him the ball though. Even when he throws his way the play comes up short. IF they get on same page, Gallup has a huge edge over Cobb IMO.

he could yes, but its not like gallup was getting it done whether it was chemistry or not.

he avg 2.06 catches per game
33 yards per game
0.125 TD's per game.

and its not like he wasnt on the field

Gallup showed great potential and put up 100 yards in the playoff game. He was often an afterthought and that can't be held against him. He is clearly the #2 going into next year and it's not close. That doesn't mean Cobb or someone else may not overtake him, but right now Cobb is a slot play for Dallas at most. Plus you need to block to start for Dallas unless you are exceptional which is why T Will kept starting. The Cowboys were very comfortable with Gallup starting last year and even more comfortable after last year. His numbers may not be great on a team with Cooper and that likes to spread the ball and runs more than most, but he has the talent to be a very good receiver in this league :2cents:

every youn guy shows potential, the numbers dont correlate to it. 1 game yes he played very well. I agree they were comfortable with him, but that doesnt always correlate. i like the guy, and like his college game. But i loved limas sweed, and he oozed potential, and the steelers were very comfortable with him, that worked out well.

I'm not talking about College. I'm not sure how often you watched Gallup but he played well last year and much better than his stats. I'm fine with you not agreeing but there is no intention whatsoever of Cobb starting over him right now. He is just a better player than Cobb at this point in time. Not 100% Cobb makes the team, but if he is the FT slot guy he should do well because Dak prefers those throws.

i watched 5-6 cowboys games tbh. you certainly watched and analyzed more than me. But stats are stats. What are you referring to for playing well

crazily barkley led all rookies in receptions.

but gallup was 13th in rookie receptions, 10th in rookie yards, Tied for 15th in TD's
19th in 1st down percentage conversion(even being more of a downfield guy) with 10 of his 33 catches being 20+ yards.

Again I like gallup, i like his college game, i was excited to see what he could do, and glad he went to dallas, because he got an immediate shot. Yes, dak limits EVERYONE a bit i guess except cooper. Yes i see reason for optimism, yes he has every right to step forward. Yes he will have that oppertunity. but year one stats dont scream dudes gonna break out, and he was given a really great shake year 1.

waht am i missing

That's my point. He was constantly open and those are his stats.

He was open much more than he got the ball. He stretched the field, he had some nice catches, he blocked and did everything he was asked. He was also a good route runner. There were many times he had a step or two for a big play and Dak missed him. It was a recurring theme last year that he and Dak needed to get their timing down on the deep ball. He was one of the few Cowboy outside WRs that didn't seem to run the wrong route half of the time the last few years. Mostly, the Cowboys #2 (or Z) WR is just not a big stat position and I can't recall the last time it was.

Harper was the the last Dallas WR2 to put up numbers.
