I think more of the limited body of work with Mayfield. I've seen young QBs start hot (RG3, Dak Prescott notables) that were not able to sustain a high level of play once the tape was out on them. Not grouping Mayfield with those players, but I need to see more of him than I do Wentz. We're talking a lot about Wentz's injury concerns, and I'm not sure if Mayfield has even taken a flush hit yet....that's how little we've seen.

IMO, that’s the only valid reason someone would pick Wentz over mayfield at this point.

I do not find Wentz’s body of work as impressive as others here do.

I tend to agree...he's just has a lot more snaps and a fair amount of success....this will be a critical year for Wentz...Philly would be best served to take the same approach IND did with Luck.

Late to the party on this one, but I went with Wentz.

You have to like what you see as a Brown's fan and be somewhat concerned if you're an Eagles fan, but going off their current body of work, Wentz has shown more...really would like to see Mayfield play out this 2nd yr.
I get wanting to see more from Baker, but all we can compare apples to apples is rookie years and Baker's was far better....with a lesser team.

I would rather have Mayfield because Wentz seems like an injury prone QB I would be scared to give him a huge contract extension seems like the team looked better with foles under center than Wentz.

The hardest thing to do in the NFL is be the head coach/QB of the Cleveland browns and turn around that culture and win. I feel if you can bring wins the browns you can win games anywhere
I get that, I do, but to me winning promotes a better culture. Not the other way around. Have always thought the culture will improve dramatically when they found their QB.

It’s not like wentz has played a full year yet. His work is limited as well, and when he takes a hit he breaks

Yeah, but a lot more snaps than Mayfield at this point. I don't need any convincing that Wentz is a risky pick...I just don't know if Mayfield is the real thing off 10 or 12 starts.

Neither are the real thing, to me.

Both are tied with Cousins, Carson Palmer, me and Matt Stafford in playoff wins.

It's what they have been missing for the last 25+ years. I mean Kosar wasn't great but he was suitable and they put a team around him. The Browns haven't even had decent QB's in a long time. It starts with the FO and getting your star QB. It makes things a hell of a lot easier when you don't have to fill the most difficult and most important position on the field

Exactly, which was why I could do nothing but laugh when many said take Barkley and then the QB who falls to 4. I didn't know it should be Baker, but they just needed to take the QB they liked at 1.

And I'm loving hearing the questions surrounding all of this year's QBs knowing we don't need one.

Gotta give it time, Mayfield hasn't had even a full year on team that never won before he was QB. Year 2 with a solid group, hopefully the team can stay healthy, should tell us a lot.
Wentz...just not so sure about him. His team won a SB without him and he is going on year 4 and the injuries are piling up.

Cannot say I know, but he does have the 2 most important qualities I look for in a QB. Accurant and smart (makes quick decisions). Icing on the cake he has a strong arm, as well.

True, the closest we can come to apples to apples is their rookie seasons. I'm always concerned about the soph jinx I guess, especially with the QB position.

As much as I loved Barkley they wouldn't have won 3 games taking him imo. That was the perfect draft to take a QB and it looks like so far they made the right choice...finally lol

I'm not sure about either.

Wentz is an injury concern already. Baker is small and somewhat of a risk taker. And the Browns are still the Browns.

I just don't have anything you can be concerned about if you saw him play tbh. It's not like he was inaccurate. He had rookie QB jitters like everyone does at times but he has all the traits of a future great QB. I could see getting jitters about a guy that had questions coming out of college, bad accuracy, flimsy arm, etc. but this is different imo. The only thing a little concerning is his Favre-like decision-making at times but it's things you have to live with...I saw a lot of progression over his first year.

Yeah, we're having a little fun with this comparison, but I think CLE has finally got a QB that has a good shot of being a 2nd contract player in CLE.
