I would be all over this. Hell yes! That would resolve our RB issue along with a stud player at 7.

I have heard many scenarios that include Fournette for Foles and some picks. But I have not seen #7 in those scenarios. Common thread I have read is that the Jags need to use that #7.

As for Fournette.....I could be talked into it. Just worry about his injuries way back to college. Not so much worry about attitude as a change in teams can help that. But could this training staff manage him?

Reminds me of Sproles....I like that.

Yep, would be an excellent option out of the Backfield as a receiver. Not a full time RB, but we like to rotate Backs in our system anyhoo. Wouldn't have to use a very high pick on him either ... probably a 4th or 5th. Smallwood and Clement are signed through 2019 and they cost next to nothing cap-wise. Assuming Clement is 100% I could live with a rotation of those 3.

This is another Back I love this year. While I'm a huge fan of Bama RB Josh Jacobs ... I'm not a fan of RB in Rd 1. There's a few non-big-name guys this year I'm really high on.

I read this morning that the Eagles might be content to let Foles walk and take the comp pick in next year's draft. Anything is a possibility at this point really, but I think the Jags rumor largely depends on if they can convince themselves to take a QB at #7, and I've read that Coughlin is not really enamored with Foles to begin with.

I think if anyone may reach out with an offer, I agree with Rey that it's Denver. Better situation for him there, but IMO if they don't make a significant offer (Eagles want a 2nd rounder minimum) then I think they will let Foles go.

I think the Eagles putting it out there that they are ready to just let Foles walk could also be a tactic to get teams who want him to make an offer. Once he hits the market there are no guarantees that a team who wants him will be able to assure his services. The asking price will likely be a 2nd rounder as the Eagles don't really hold much leverage ... teams know that they are not going to keep him (unlike last season). If there are no 2nd round offers however, Foles will be allowed to walk and the Birds will likely get a 3rd round compensation pick the following season.

Getting a second rounder this draft sure beats a 3rd the next year. Yes, I also agree that Denver is the most likely. Foles could be a good starter now, and a bridge for a draftee. Denver is an awesome living place for Nick and his family.

a 3rd from Jax is better than a 3rd comp as well. Not sure a 2nd is really needed

Very true and you wouldn't have to wait a year.

Sure, but not in the 1st, IMO. I know taking the BPA is the way to go, but with the depth of DT, and DE, I would be very surprised if we go in any other direction with the first 2 or 3 picks.

I have done the Draft Simulator at least 10 times, on just about everyone of them, I was able to land Josh Jacobs with the later of our 2 second round picks.

That site can sometimes be a little off to say the least. Here's my Mock from there; able to get Justice Hill "&" Bryce Love very late ... no more worries at RB :) (Josh Jacobs did go in Rd 1 of this one - I used MM's Bleacher Report as the rankings). Risner & Edoga would be steals at that point on the OL - Carson would be very happy.

Watched a load of film on Oklahoma RT Cody Ford tonight and wow! this kid is really good! Moves way better than he looks like he can move for his size and unlike some other Olinemen I've watched tape on, he is really hard to budge when bull rushed. Great at mirroring defenders in pass protection and once he gets his mitts on you it's over. Plays hard way past the whistle and always finishes his blocks. In the run game he is excellent, even though Oklahoma passes a ton, he looks right at home driving defenders back and sealing them off as a run blocker. On screens he also gets the job done ... light feet despite being close to 340 lbs.

If by chance the plan is to move Lane Johnson to the Left side when Peters is gone ... I would give serious consideration to taking Ford at 25 if still there. Honestly after watching his tape I find it hard to believe teams who need a RT or Guard would let him slide past the top 20 picks.

I would be down for that trade as well
so basically the trade is this:
Foles for the player the Eagles pick at #7
Fournette for pick #54

That seems like a pretty good deal to me

It's Foles for Fournette and our 1st and 2nd for their 1st.

I think i'd prefer Foles for their 2nd

I'd rather do what Snowdog said. We get #7, and Fornette, and we still have a 2nd rounder. No brainer for me.

Nah Manny. That would be terrible. I want one of the 3 stud linemen from Clemson + a DE, and a OT.

I was not very thrilled with it either. I try to get the BPA, but it seems like The BPA in almost every round was not a position we needed. In some instance I would reach a little, but in most, I kept to the script.

Been watching WR film on this year's class and it is loaded!!! I've already written about my man crush earlier in this thread with Hakeem Butler from Iowa State, but this kid from Stanford JJ Arcega-Whiteside really has my attention. His hands are just flat out amazing and he boxes out defenders better than any WR I can remember coming out. He also sets defenders up with great footwork which creates space ... plus he has good deep giddy-up for a guy who's 6'3" 225 lbs. I'm not sure why this kid isn't getting more 1st Rd love. The list of impressive receivers just goes on and on though ... Ole Miss' AJ Brown who often takes a back seat to freak athlete team-mate DK Metcalf, reminds me a bunch of Reggie Wayne. While Metcalf could end up being the next TO, Brown imo is the surer receiver. At worst I see him as a top notch #2. Oklahoma's Marquise Brown is a mix between TY Hilton and DeSean Jackson ... absolutely love him. Arizona State's N'Keal Harry is another Alshon Jeffery ... huge with tremendous hands and unstoppable on 50/50 balls. Debo Samuel reminds me a bunch of a faster Anquan Boldin ... plenty of others including Kelvin Harmon from NC State, Andy Isabella from UMass, Lil-Jordan Humphrey from Texas and Paris Campbell from OSU ... all who all could receive consideration in Rd 2 or 3. No shortage of great options for the Eagles this year at the position if they want to snag one or even two of these guys for Carson Wentz!
