Do you actually believe that nonsense? The advancement in sports medicine, specialized trainers, dieticians, nutritionists, weight lifting equipment, the lifting programs, etc. change on a yearly basis.

Hell, even the athletes themselves have WAY more specialized training and coaching before even getting to college than they did in the 90’s.

You can think 95 Nebraska would hammer teams in 2019, but it wouldn’t happen.

the 97 Nebraska team was better than michigans '18 team

Do you believe nutritionist and dieticians didn't exist back then? Specialized trainers didn't exist back then? weight lifting equipment LOL didn't exist back then? Are you joking? Never mind the fact that you are simply ignoring the human body aspect of it all, believe it or not... there actually IS a limit. What I am saying is that the 95 Nebraska team as bigger, stronger and faster than everybody else.... now in 2019 teams have caught up (obviously before then). And no, as someone that has studied weight training and conditioning programs... no, they don't change yearly. As a matter of fact, actual weight and conditioning training RARELY changes, there are minor things people attempt all the time to see/determine an impact, but the major basic factors never change because they are proven. The programs themselves might, but technicially changing the order in which machine or muscle group you work is considered a change.

You can think 95 Nebraska would hammer teams in 2019, but it wouldn’t happen.

Yes because 300lbs in the 90's is like 180lbs today. Huh? Science. Weight. Mass. Gravity. They're all just words.

You truly have no idea the kind of strength and conditioning program that Nebraska had and simply believe that because 20-30 years have past it must automatically be better. I am not going to say that some things are not certainly better, but most of that is in terms of quality of equipment or regiments for quicker gains... but just because there is a regiment for a quicker gain now, doesn't mean that they are able to practically continue to gain and still be translatable to the field. Again, there are limits to the human body and specifically to a particular sport as your usefulness is limited to your ability.

You hold on to the fantasy that Nebraska was 25 years ahead of science, training and coaching as long as you’d like.

I can tell you with certainty — only a Nebraska fan would say as such.

I’d go a step further — I’d wager that every record held at Nebraska for strength, speed, agility, etc. is held by players over the last 10 years, tops. Wouldn’t be surprised if it were the last 5 years.

But if it makes you feel better to think like that. Feel free.

Given your lack information or knowledge on such things, I don't think there is anything you can say for certainty.

But that is typical of a Michigan fan. They've been lying their whole way to relevancy. Shouldn't expect their fans to know any better.

My lack of knowledge? It is common sense. You think schools are spending 10’s of millions of dollars on STATE OF THE ART weight rooms and millions more on staff is the same as 25 years ago? Only a fool would think so.

Since 1995 — UM has rebuilt and renovated the weight room multiple times. First, was a 10 million dollar facelift to a 12,000 square foot weight room. Then it was a 21 million dollar, 32,000 square foot building.

But I’m sure Nebraska maxed out weight training in the 90’s, so they don’t need to make any changes at all.

And it is cute that a Nebraska fan is talking about relevancy, as UM was emptying their bench in the 2nd quarter against you this year. Nebraska makes UM look like a juggernaut today.

They'll need to thump Clemson. Something like 35-13 or so. Helluva team that would deserve a lot of accolades if they do indeed win.

'01 Miami was maybe the most talented college football team I've ever seen, but they laid some serious eggs that year against some less than stellar teams.

I'm obviously a bit biased towards Nebraska '95, but their absolute dominance of 4 Top 10 teams that year is unprecedented in modern college football.

So it is common sense that merely because time passes, that things naturally get better? That is your stance. Again, you don't know what you are talking about. Do you realize quantity does not equal quality? But again, the point elludes you. Quality is not improved merely because you put money into it. Secondly, for the last time, not much has changed in terms of actual knowledge or information regarding weight, strength, and conditioning training... but you believe in your beanstalk beans.

Sure, Michigan owned Nebraska this year. That's fine. Nebraska is a shell of itself since Osbornes retirement, that is a known fact. But, I was not talking about Michigan today, I am talking about historically and actually delving into the facts behind the statistics bare that out.

Has every thread by op crashed and burned on this board too?

I’ve seen only a few and he seems to fail spectacularly every time.

Just wondering about those who made fun of Notre Dame being in the playoff.
Obviously, their offense was not championship quality. But right now it would appear their defense sure matches up with Alabama's.

Sounds good — sports science, nutrition, equipment, supplements, weight training all froze in time in the 90’s:lol:

From the looks of it — Nebraska’s football program may have the same beliefs as you and that’s why they’ve been left behind.

Bama is getting outcoached in this game. Some of the looks Venables has dialed up has completely fooled Tua and cost them multiple turnovers.
