I can't say that. While it is true that a lot of the athletes are bigger and stronger and faster nowadays, this was done essentially by doing what Nebraska was doing in their strength and conditioning program. If I remember right, 95 Nebraska had the 300lb linemen back then and there is no denying the speed of that 95 team.

I admire your style, sir. Quick point of order, though, and I can attest to this personally.......... something few people ever pay attention to..........

Have you ever checked Nebraska's rosters back then? The heights and weights of each player? Ever notice that they were almost ALWAYS perfectly round numbers?

OT-300
OG-280
C-260
OG- 275
OT- 300

.....and so on and so forth. Nebraska NEVER let on as to how big and strong "The Pipeline" was back then. Those "pancake eaters" were MUCH bigger than their listed sizes, and I'll fight anybody who doesn't like it, because I've seen them personally. Dr. Rob Zatechka looked more like a bodybuilder than an Offensive Lineman. :D

How much "gut" do you see on these guys? :noidea:

Coach Osborne played a shell game with the rest of CFB back then. They just didn't know it......

What about 1897 Penn (15-0)? Held opponents to 6 points or less 14 times including 12 shutouts. This team has been overlooked for years. Look at those goose eggs.
W 17-0 @ Bucknell
W 33-0 Franklin & Marshall
W 18-4 Washington & Jefferson
W 33-0 Bucknell
W 57-0 Gettysburg
W 58-0 Lehigh
W 42-0 Virginia
W 34-0 Dartmouth
W 24-0 Penn St (Joe Paterno's first season)
W 46-0 Lafayette
W 40-0 @ Brown
W 20-10 Carlisle
W 22-0 Wesleyan
W 15-6 Harvard
W 4-0 Cornell

I LIKED your post, but at the same time, it kind of doesn't count when nobody else knows how to play football yet. :ohwell:

Clearly the greatest team of all time. It's all about what you did to your competition.

OP was not being serious, but some of our own fans were crowing earlier in the year. I cautioned everyone to wait until the end of the season.

Just because you look pretty scoring a lot doesn’t mean you are THAT good. Last night should drive home that point.

How does 2018 Clemson stack up against five nebraska teams

This guy applied numbers, no strength of schedule included

2018 Clemson
Points per offensive play 0.617
Points per defensive play 0.193
Difference 0.424

This mean if Clemson and their season opponents all had exactly 1000 plays

Clemson 617 points
Opponents 193 points

Hot Reads: How 2018 Clemson Compares to Nebraska's National Champs

Only 1995 Nebraska compares to Clemson, or should I say, Clemson compares to Nebraska

Points per offensive play 0.680
Points per defensive play 0.222
Difference 0.458

Nebraska 680 points
Opponents 222 points

Please remember, 1995 Nebraska was a running and running and running team. nebraska ran the ball to set up the run. Clemson ran the ball to set up the pass, or in the case of the Alabama game, it was just pass baby.

What I am saying, in this era, incomplete passes stop the clock. In 1995, a run for 0 yards did not stop the clock.
