limit possessions for each team and slow it down?

count on the oklahoma defense to give it up every possession and put your foot down?

Bama will be able to score anyway they want to, and I doubt Saban will want to go away from what they've done all season.

Zero question he wants to grind it out and keep OUs offense off the field. OUs defense won’t cooperate with this very well though. Based on the last couple games the OU defense is taking more chances and that is their only chance. If you can seldom stop the other team anyway you are better off taking chances and if you miss and they score quicker so be it. At least you aren’t wearing your defense out and your offense can stay in rhythm.

If I were OU, I’d just try to score more points than bama.

Whichever team gets 2 or 3 stops will probably win. I love my Sooners, but Bama probably wins this one.

I got Bama by ~9 but if we could somehow force a couple turnovers while protecting the ball ourselves we could take it down to the wire. I’ll be curious to see if Riley just says, “Screw it. Let’s go for the takeaways and sacks and if that doesn’t work well hope to be the last team with the ball with a chance to win.”

That's what I'm hoping for. Balls to the wall, zero fucks given, let it rip. Win or lose, leave no doubt you gave it everything you had.

When you have the defense the gameplan is always to limit the oposing teams posessions. Wear down the defense, and when you have a guy like Tua and their wideouts you take a few shots to keep the defense honest.

When you have the better matchup O vs. D, you want as many possessions as possible. Trying to slow it down wouldn’t make much sense for Bama.

I was looking at the schedules for both. Down the stretch, OU won three of their last five games by 5, 1 and 3 points. Bama's only played one close game...but it was their last one. OU needs to keep it close.

I've seen Murray do things you would think impossible. I just can't count OU out. Best of luck.

Bama is in my head. I just don't see OU's secondary stopping Tua and those damn bastard receivers like Jeudy and Waddle.
They've done pretty well for a rebuilding year! All of the WR's, at least 2 of the RB's, Tua, and 3 of the OL are sophomores and will back next year.
As far as the game goes, the best way to hold an explosive offense in check is to keep them on the sideline watching. I would expect Bama to come out with a heavy ball control game plan. Pass when they WANT to, instead of when they have to. Scoring quick on every series put's the ball right back in Kylers hands, and keeps your own defense on the field getting them tired.
I would also say that OU's defense is tired of hearing just how bad they are and will come out fired up and ready to play.
Should be a good game.
