I'd love it if he is forced to sign a contract less than what he wanted and what the Steelers initially offered him

I defended Bell saying if he had to give up a 1 year 14 million season to get a 4 year deal averaging 11-12 million a year with a comfortable guarenteed salary then I say it is worth it and he is actually entitled to it. If he would have gotten hurt this season he would be lucky to get 8 million a year deal.

But 17 million is crazy I am assuming they are just trying to start out high before coming to the median with a team
you were his biggest fan, kept him all year long in fantasy

3-million per year more than Gurley? I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around that.
this has been our fans point. Bell is a moron. Bell is out for himself. Bell thinks hes better than he is. Bell is ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY

That idiot would have to average more than $17Mil a year for about 5 years (a running back? seriously?)to make up what he fucked away this season.

Fucking moron.

Pittsburgh didn't want to give him guaranteed money. This next deal is supposed to be the one where he rakes in the guaranteed money. I don't blame him. It's his body and he'd rather do this and get his guarantee vs playing it out and assuming that nothing will happen. Look at what happened to Earl Thomas.

for every earl, theres 15 other guys that it doesnt happen to. Also no one lied and ran their mouth like bell. Or had their value knocked down a bit by watching their back up CURRENTLY outperform them

What's wrong with this? I think he knows he likely won't get this.

Set the bar high so you can still get a reasonable deal.

FS's take a lot less abuse than RB's do. He wanted guaranteed money and Pitt didn't want to give it to him. And it's not just the freak thing like ET went through. RB's have only so much mileage they can expect out of their bodies and Bell didn't want to waste a year of his on what the Steelers were offering him. I can understand the frustration as a fan but his body is his industry. He's got a 7 year window to make whatever he's going to make for himself and then it's over.

7 years total for a RB in this league, and that's if you age well. What kind of lifespan do you see NFL RB's having?

the nfl average is 3 years

And he's proven that he's durable and wants guaranteed money. You think every RB should expect a 1 year deal every year and be happy with it?
