Salary-cap analyst Joel Corry predicts free agent TE Austin Hooper will command at least a four-year, $44 million contract.
Hooper should also land fully guaranteed salaries over the first two years. With Hunter Henry potentially getting franchised, Hooper is going to reset the tight end market this offseason, whether it's with Atlanta or another team. Talks between the Falcons and Hooper should heat up at next week's Combine.

I agree it would be a massive overpay for Hooper. I think we get Bradberry and he is going to cost some money plus signing back Flowers and Sherff.

Pass at that price. He may block worse than Reed.

Agreed! I'm a native Atlantan. He's good, but he's not George Kittle, Travis Kelce or Zach Ertz. He has good hands and can get open, but he's not very dynamic. Plus, he's not much of a blocker. I hope we don't reset the market for this guy.

You always overpay for FA’s . I would kick the tires and offer maybe 30 mil for 4 years

He is also injury prone, the TE prospects this year are solid! Draft and groom.

I don't want Sherff back. He has not had a healthy season in 3 years and wants top Guard money. Pass.

I really like Schreff but I'm thinking of Flowers and Martin taking over and drafting another guard to groom. Schreff's injury list is starting to grow and how much of the next contract will he play? Not trying to be frugal but we can find his replacement for sure. We could use that money elsewhere. Martin proved steady last year and will improve. I do not think Flowers will command big money so let's gauge him first in the signing of the guards.

The question will be, how significant will the drop off be? I'm thinking not so much.

He is a great Guard but as I have said a million times:

Availablity > Ability

We need players who will be on the field. That is why I prefer Thueny.

He has been on the field for 3 pro bowls

He has missed 13 games in 5 years and has played 3 full seasons

so he avgs 2 missed games per year

5 of those missed games happened last year and if we were in contention he could have played

making the case he isn’t available doesn’t hold water in my opinion . Cost does however

I would go with Martin, a high draft pick like a 2nd or 3rd rounder (if we trade back and get that 2nd back) and lastly, Flowers.

He played 8 games in 2018 and 11 games in 2019.

Also, I do not think he wants to be here as we have been trying to extend him and it appears he wants the money.
Redskins offering Scherff $13M per year extension
