And if he has some major medical event in the offseason, POOF there goes his cushy future... I would a signed, get the money, Pitt was still offering enough money to be set for life...

I defended Bell saying if he had to give up a 1 year 14 million season to get a 4 year deal averaging 11-12 million a year with a comfortable guarenteed salary then I say it is worth it and he is actually entitled to it. If he would have gotten hurt this season he would be lucky to get 8 million a year deal.

But 17 million is crazy I am assuming they are just trying to start out high before coming to the median with a team
You mean down to 14M, exactly what he just tossed in the scrap bucket?

Yep, get your money while you can , he's playing games and it might bite him before it's all said and done...
wanting more money than gurley is stupid. He might get it. But how does his value not take hit
1) his antics
2) James Conner

Most of the Jets are FA's, so they have a lot of freed up cash and a QB on a rookie contract. I'd offer Bell 4yr/60m. Use the extra cap space and draft picks to put into the OLine. Then have a Bell/Crowell duo and use the hell out of them (in the pass game, too). They also have some high priced cuttable guys maybe they can restructure.

Sounds like the same person that gave him advice on his rapping skills gives him advice on NFL contract negotiations.

Oh definitely the later.
If he gets 17 million a year a team is going to do the same to him as the Steelers, in the fact wherever he ends up next season he breaks the record for touches.
