Fraley is #40 in Rays top 50 prospect.

Fraley becomes the #21 ranked prospect with M's. He climbed the ladder fast...

Word is Robinson Cano, while gracious to be the super utilityman after returning from his ban, wants his second base job. Dipoto wasn’t ready to commit to that, at least not publicly. “We don’t know that yet,” is how he put it …

So what you are saying is that we should expect to see Chris Giminez and Rene' Rivera when pitchers and catchers report in February.
I don't even know. It's still way too early in the offseason.... they can have a cow back there trying to catch for all I care. :D

Which is why I'm totally OK with this trade. Greg Johns said it, Fraley is a promising OF that had a breakout year and with nothing in the farm, every little pieces will help. In the end, he can only go up on this farm system with a legit chance to contribute.

I was hoping he would rip up his contract and ask for his immediate release. Not going to happen, but if he wants to play 2B that badly then put your money where your mouth is.

Won’t happen, but I hope during the next CBA talks MLB forces the players into if they test positive for PED’s the contract become invalid or however you put it in lawyer terms.

I disagree with him being asked to do the impossible. He had some bad salaries for sure, but he was allowed to take on Leake, Gordon, Nicassio etc. He took the job and they were not the worst farm system in baseball, close but I believe his former team was rated the worst, then he turned it into the worst farm system in one season. He wasn’t given a golden egg like Pat Gillick was but its not like he came in and was asked to win the WS or was taking over for the Padres or insert your bottom tier franchise wth a small payroll.

But I agree he is not the right guy for this project.

i'd be optimistic if we had owners or a front office who knew what they were doing

dipoto might be worse than jack z, and the new owners aren't any better than nintendo either

Without question literally nothing on his resume leads anyone to feel even slightly optimistic that he is the right guy to do a rebuild. I’d still prefer they just let Jerry go and hire a young and hungry (like Theo was) GM.

People are afraid to admit that JD may be worse then JZ but it’s definitely possible. Especially since JD comes off as “I’m the smartest man in the room”.

This.

Your contract should be voided if caught cheating with PED.

can’t imagine a team willing to give a package like that willing to let him bat.

Good point. I did read Phils were interested so maybe teams are willing to just have him take 3 pitches each AB and let him walk back to the dugout.

A policy like that makes sense to the fans, but I think the MLB owners and the MLBPA would both oppose it. I think the two sides are in agreement on PEDS - that being that PEDs are good for revenue. They just have to create the perception that they are trying to discourage PED use.
