No More "Bullpen Failure" - maybe
It seems to indicate that they are not so sure about what they are doing. If they keep adding names, does that indicate they are not real impressed with those already interviewed?![]()

I think the Rangers are trying to learn something themselves in the interview process. If they keep adding names, does that indicate they are not real impressed with those already interviewed?![]()

We could be ready to contend for a wildcard by then if that is the goal. With the right approach to blending FA's & our best prospects it could be as early as 2021 but if our approach is to rely solely on our prospects we could be talking 2024 or 2025 or later.
That sounds like the approach Jerry Jones used to take.I think the Rangers are trying to learn something themselves in the interview process.
I think it is very deliberate and not necessarily indecisiveness as some skeptics might suggest

A WS championship is my goal. It will take a blend of mostly prospects and a few FA.
Are you spending on an ace and a #2? Who are you getting and for how much and for how long.If we spend money in SP in 2019 offseason we may be able to contend for playoff birth in 2020. We shall see how the Astros handle age and retention of their core starting 2020

I would understand JD doing that back when he hired his first manager. At this stage other organizations should be trying to learn from him.

Isn't ace money close to $28 million for 6 years and #2 money about $20 million for 5 years?
I don't think the new stadium changes a thing. Not Kershaw unless we want a 2 poor 3 in 2021. Not sure I can predict who we will spend on next winter or following ASB.
Just think with new stadium they have to make a marquee splash to reinfigythr dwindling season ticket fan base
You gotta have a lot more than good fortune to get there. Being the best hitting team was very helpful.Only a few aces in the league BTW. No guarantees. Have to have some good fortune to win WS
IF Bennitendi does not make the catch BoSox may not have been WS champs
I don't think the new stadium changes a thing.

You have the history of the last new stadium to test its validity.I wish we could save this post a year from now to test its validity
To me it isn't about the owners being frugal. To me it is about it being unwise to sign a 30-something year-old pitcher who isn't going to be worth the money most of the years that he is signed. Save that money for position players who don't fall apart so easily. Just not on a guy the size of Prince or as old as Choo.Point is will the owners poney up to buy pitching. I think they will for 2020 season. Just good business and they are about the business.
But I do get that they have been a bit frugal hence the justified skepticism. Love to get a group willing to spend and team is more a hobby than a bottom line business proposition
Yes, it will, but will the cost paralyze our budget again when those pitchers' production falls off the table in year 3 of their contract. It has been said that players don't like playing in Texas heat. I think the new stadium could change that a little.
He doesn't appear to be a TORP presently. Maybe a Colby Lewis type.
It also helps to have an Ace GM like JD
