In the interviews I’ve seen made it look like McDonough was the main decision maker. I think Doncic will be good but Ayton is probably the most overlooked number one pick in history. The dude is averaging like 22 and 12 with 3 blocks in the preseason and no one ever talks about him.

That's because it's preseason. Can't evaluate him fairly until he's playing against teams @ full strength & navigating the long season.

Rockets would be hurting themselves even more if they gave up PJ Tucker to get Butler. It's bad enough they lost Ariza and Mbah A Moute this offseason which will hurt them on defense. But Tucker is SO valuable to them on that end of the floor. He is the absolute key for them if they go small on top of being a good fit next Capela in more traditional line ups. His ability to switch across pretty much every position can't be replaced. He does all their dirty work. Butler is a better player, but not a better fit for that team if Tucker is gone.

Butler is a good enough defender to offset his loss and he's a lot offensively.....Adding him
and Melo would more than offset their off-season losses.

Just not sure if he'd re-sign in Houston. He seems to want to play with Irving in Brooklyn.

Wiggins as the #1 overall pick and on a max salary is very different than Wiggins picked #45 and on a 3 year rookie minimum contract.
