Not sure if you been watching preseason @TurnUpTheHeat but McGruder is making a great case to be in the rotation over Tyler

Honestly, not much, but ive seen the boxscores.
With Tylers salary, not sure if Riley wouid want him sitting on the bench.
They need to dump him somehow in a T Wolves trade.

Seriously. Nobody wants to see him drop on the court.

I cant imagine any team wanting that liability
Lets see him play in a pick up game on his own vs NBA sized players.

Yeah always a tough thing for players to have to retire, but it's even worse when you're forced to do it. I mean I can't really imagine what it's like for these guys. Ball really is life for them. That's been their identity for more than half their life. It's hard to find sympathy for a guy in his position with his hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank, but I do feel for him a bit. If you were living your dream job and someone just told you tomorrow you could no longer work in that field, but would have to do something else completely, anyone would be crushed.
Well said.

I think my biggest issue is that this is life-threatening and he is putting what he wants ahead of his wife and children.

There isn't anything in this world I wouldn't give up to see my daughters graduate from college, get married and have kids of their own.

@tlance , @shopson67 , @CitySushi ....

What are your thoughts on Diallo of the Thunder?

Damn if he doesn't ooze potential.

He reminds me so much of Wiggins.

Before people start balking...

Wiggins as the #1 overall pick and on a max salary is very different than Wiggins picked #45 and on a 3 year rookie minimum contract.

This kid might turn out to be the steal of the draft and Trier might be the next guy that people say ...how the fuck did he not get drafted?!?

This.

If somebody told me I could play in the NFL or NBA for 1-2 seasons.....but flip side is that I would die after?

I wouldn't do it. Even as much as a sportshead that I am....looking forward to Austin having grandkids one day.

Agree with both of you, but I understand why it's tough for him as well.

For guys who have dreamed of being a professional athlete, accepting that dream isn't going to be a reality can be really tough. It's why there are so many men who will tell you that they "could have been a pro athlete except for that injury, coach who held them back, went to a small school, lived in a small town" or any other number of excuses other than just admitting they weren't good enough.

I can't even imagine what it must be like for a guy who, was not only good enough...but good enough to play at an all star level

That's gotta be damn near impossible to accept.

Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker.

Rockets would be hurting themselves even more if they gave up PJ Tucker to get Butler. It's bad enough they lost Ariza and Mbah A Moute this offseason which will hurt them on defense. But Tucker is SO valuable to them on that end of the floor. He is the absolute key for them if they go small on top of being a good fit next Capela in more traditional line ups. His ability to switch across pretty much every position can't be replaced. He does all their dirty work. Butler is a better player, but not a better fit for that team if Tucker is gone.

Certainly looked good last night and apparently has a chance to start.

Will be interesting to see how he fits with Russ, but looks like a great pick so far. Trier too.

Butler is a good enough defender to offset his loss and he's a lot offensively.....Adding him
and Melo would more than offset their off-season losses.

Just not sure if he'd re-sign in Houston. He seems to want to play with Irving in Brooklyn.
