The way I see it, the players get what they want out of it - just like every other student. There are cases where they mostly about football and take easy classes, and then you have guys like Barrett Jones who manage to get a masters while playing. And I'm guessing most are in between.

So I really don't see what he is talking about really.

It's one thing to compete but if the coaches are telling you in private you're the man well that's just shady. Does bama not release a depth chart? If they do is it filled with or, or, or. If so seems like saban either doesn't like having that tough talk with kids telling them sorry but you're not gonna start. He just wants to string them along. Makes since with all that depth they have. He is a smooth snake oil salesmen and it's paid off.

We do have a bunch of RB's, but since it's just like a week into camp, and we basically don't do that at a position like RB ever, I find this hard to believe.

We will run with the hot RB as usual. Bo didn't become our main RB until the end of the season last year really. Jacobs and Harris seemed to get most carries before then.

W Kentucky: 5
Ole Miss: 7
Kent St: 3
Kentucky: 5
Arkansas: 7
Tenn: 5
A&M: 8
LSU: 11

And then he started getting more carries because he got hotter, carrying over 10 times a game, up to 19 carries vs Washington and 16 vs Clemson before getting hurt.

There is no mystery what we are going to do with RBs. We'll rotate 2 or 3 and the one that gets hottest and most effective will end up getting the majority of carries.

The message is always the same - you'll have a chance to compete and you have to earn your job. So I think your rumor is made up.

Saban probably did tell them all of that, but he probably didn't expect Barnett to go in against USC and wet himself. And he probably didn't expect Jalen to play so well. Barnett is very talented and we could have done well with him but you have to earn your way at Alabama. Same at every other college. Same with life. Nothing is given to anyone. You have to earn it.

Both Bateman and Barnett had ample opportunities to win the job but they got beat out by a guy who ultimately became the offensive player of the year in the sec
